shock
Marvin has been named to the All-Rookie Second team. I believe both Chillz and Smoove were on the team last year. Congratulations to Marvin.
Lascar78
Congrats, it's deserved. He had a real slow progression (like the joshes), but was coming along nicely towards the end. 2005-06 T-Mobile NBA ALL-ROOKIE FIRST TEAM Chris Paul Charlie Villanueva Andrew Bogut Deron Williams Channing Frye 2005-06 T-Mobile NBA ALL-ROOKIE SECOND TEAM Danny Granger Raymond Felton Luther Head Marvin Williams Ryan Gomes
Premium Member Diesel Posted May 4, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 I guess that means Marvin is a top ten Rookie? Let me see: Paul Bogut Deron Villanueva Frye Granger Felton Head Yessircabbages Marvin? What about Salim, Gomes, and Nate Robinson? No love for the undersized player? Admin capstone21 Posted May 4, 2006 Admin Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 Felton was the second or third best rookie this past season. He started a little slow but after all star break he was playing just as well as Paul. There is no way Williams deserved first team over him. Lascar78
Like I've argued before, Salim is not as valuable as Marvin. He has shot us out of games as often as he has shot us into them, and he has no other aspects to his game as of today. Final point totals: Chris Paul 58 C. Villanueva 56 Andrew Bogut 55 Deron Williams 46 Channing Frye 45 Danny Granger 43 Raymond Felton 40 Luther Head 28 M. Williams 15 Ryan Gomes 14 Sarunas Jasikevicius, Indiana, 12 Ike Diogu, Golden State, 8 Nate Robinson, New York, 7 Rashad McCants, Minnesota, 6 Johan Petro, Seattle, 6 Jose Calderon, Toronto, 3 Jarrett Jack, Portland, 3 Joey Graham, Toronto, 2 Martell Webster, Portland, 2 Salim Stoudamire, Atlanta,

At the end of the season he was clearly outplaying Williams, but over the entire season, Deron was more consistent and he led his team to more wins. I could see it either way. In the last 3 months, Felton was definitely a top 3 rookie
Premium Member Diesel Posted May 4, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 If you looked only at the late season surge... Top 5 would be: 1. Ike. 2. Felton 3. Paul 4. Marvin 5. Either Nate or Petro. However, if you consider the winning percentage of the teams in question.. Only Paul would be a player worth noting next year. It's easy to look good in the latter part of the year when your team sucks. We've seen it over and over again. Somebody call Ira...

DJlaysitup
You would certainly think Nate Robinson would have made the list. Maybe because his team had such a poor record? That really doesn't make sense either though - we had a pretty bad record too.

Johnnybravo4
I can't figure out the fascination with Luther Head...or Andrew Bogut for that matter Congrats to Marvin
Guest Walter
for those who saw him as a good pro, kudos. I questioned him as a pro and the early returns suggest I was wrong. W

That's homerism 101! In short, those other guys took on starting roles for their teams and didn't perform badly.

I figured he would be a real good pro, but I had no idea Paul would. I thought Felton/Deron would be the top 2 PG's. Oops
Nicholasp27
yeah, i always tended to like felton the most of the 3...but of course so far paul is winning
Johnnybravo4
What was homeristic about that statement, I was just not impressed with Head or Bogut. I didn't say Marvin should take their place. Although I will say that Salim would have put up better #'s if he didn't have to give up time to Royal Ivey's sorry azz.

Yeah - the whole Ivey experiment seems like it was a waste of time now. Not that he's bad, but he sure doesn't look to be in the future plans if we're going to really improve. Hopefully this run continues into next season with a big or a guard!
