hawkster411
If the New York Knicks buys out Larry Brown's contract, do you see the Atlanta Hawks capitalizing on this opportunity? Larry Brown Coach of the Atlanta Hawks? ***Marcus Williams (PG Draft) Josh Childress Josh Smith Marvin Williams Al Harrington
Lascar78
honestly, no thanks. He's a good coach (although overrated), but he doesn't know how to handle youth and hates playing young players. He also criticizes players too much. I would much prefer adelman to brown for our team
tmac13
With a 40 million dollar buyout and health issues I would think Brown would be very hesitant to even try coaching again.
1524
We are keeping Mike Woodson.

I don't understand why the buyout would affect us. My understanding of coaching buyouts is for instance that they'd pay him 40 mil so that they don't have to pay the full contract amount, and he in return can go anywhere. Meaning NY is going to pay him 40 mil either way, we can sign him to a regular (cheap?) deal if we want to.
Popeye
When he looks at our roster he would be like: "Hell no, that's to much kids to handle for an old guy like myself." He just won't come here if there is no vets.
WraithSentinel
I will pass on this old fossil. Sad to say but the game has passed him by now. He had great thing going in Detroit. He had to go and ruin it.
tmac13
I doesn't affect us, I simply meant with bad health and 40 million in the bank why would HE want to coach again anywhere.
KB21
The game hasn't passed Larry Brown by. He's old school, but he teaches the fundamental tenants of basketball that lead to championships. Just because he chose to coach a team that was poorly put together and simply did not have the mentality he looks for in a team doesn't mean the game has passed him by. I could see him coaching again after a year off, but I don't think he'd want to come here
DrReality
NO WAY. He's being made the fall guy. I hope he gets another job and Isaiah gets to coach the mess he's created. That would expose him once and for all. On the other hand, he couldn't be any worse a coach than he is a GM.

Admin chillzatl Posted May 16, 2006 Admin Report Share Posted May 16, 2006 man screw larry brown. He is the defacto example of people overblowing the role and impact of a coach. We shouldn't, for one second, consider talking to him. Why would we want a jackass like him coaching our team? Because he's a "great coach"? please.. Why not just bring back Lenny? They are practically the same type coach anyway.
Hoosier
Larry Brown is loyal to one person, ask the Pistons what they think about LB after he was lining up his next gig while a championship series was being played! When LB starts looking bad, he only knows how to do one thing, point his finger instead of taking the heat like a real coach does. When he comes to Atlanta, that is when I become a Hockey fan. I think it would be hilarious if Isaiah gets the Knicks in the playoffs as coach. Not gonna happen, but a lot of haters will be eating crow.
