Premium Member Diesel Posted January 18, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 18, 2003 Good Drama. I think Kobe got too many Phantom calls. I think Shaq got away with too many Shoulder drops... Especially in the end. I think Francis got away with a flagrant. I think The Refs deserve a C+ for that game. BUT... Some things I took away. 1. Yao will be good, but not great. 2. I think that the best C behind Shaq these days is Illguaskas. 3. I wouldn't trade Reef to Houston... 4. Mobley gets very little credit. 5. Bill Walton is an idiot. Let me explain 5. Bill made stupid comments all night. First, he tried to justify a stupid statement he made the other day. The other day, he said that Mike Bibby was the best PG in the NBA. Somebody asked him, "what about Kidd". He said "did you see what the Kings did to NJ?". Well at the beginning of tonights game, he went back to it on one play saying that "that's why Bibby is the best PG.". Then every 3 minutes, he would talk about how Yao is the best ...... he has ever seen. I think that discredits a lot of great players. finally, He said that every great big man needs a great SF? I was floored? Shaq? Pat Ewing? Admiral? Then come to find out he was talking about Himself and Larry Bird?? 6. Griff is not so good. 7. Posey Sucks. 8. Horry is a really good defensive player. 9. Fox and Fisher Sucks. 10. Rush will be a good player.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 18, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 18, 2003 You didn't really have to explain #5...I think it's a given in the basketball world... What an idiot.
Guest
As far as trading Reef goes I just want to get these contracts the [censored] out of here so a GOOD TEAM WITH A REAL STAR can be built.
Premium Member Diesel Posted January 18, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 18, 2003 The contracts are not really a concern to us fans. I mean, if you want to get rid of the glut... go out and find a trade for CC, Hendu, and Theo... Those are contracts that will hurt us in the future. Reef is still a 20/10 type PF. That means that I won't worry about his contract as much. However, Theo making the same kind of money and being a 7/7 C is a concern. As far as the believe that a player making as much as SAR must be a first option?? What about Kobe? What about Kidd? What about Finley? What about Walker? What about Rasheed? All these guys are in the same neighborhood and none of them are first options on their team. I think our main problem is that we know that when SAR scores the most, we win. Well, let's concentrate on getting a good PG in here and we will see about everybody's production.
Guest
Reef is still a 20/10 type PF." 19/7 is not 20/10 He doesn't contribute to the Hawks winning. He hasn't averaged 20/10 on a team that has won. What about Kobe? What about Kidd? What about Finley? What about Walker? What about Rasheed?" Kobe/Walker are first options.Kidd is leading histeam in scoringat 20PPG so he is their first option.,...He takes the important shots also. All of those are better players than SAR.All of them have more desireto be sucessful....I'd take all those players over SAR without thinking twice. SAR is a loser. He accepts losing. He dissappears to much when needed. He averages less than half a block a game. His production of 19.7PPG 7.8RPG is the lowest since like his rookie season. He hasn't had a good season and the team is unimproved despite him playing with 2 20PPG scorers. He has no more excuses. The injuries aren't a excuse. I'm saying rebuild the team from scratch.SAR isn't going to carry your team anywhere. He isn't improved the team any since coming here. Face it SAR isn't that good weither he doesn't have the desire or whatever.IT doesn't really matter. He doesn't earn that 12 million per year paycheck. Guest
Also SAR's production doesn't count the same way Walker and Wallace and other PF's.SAR's basically doesn't count. Also he misses more short jumpers than any PF I've everseen. WOW!He just airballed a shot with 5 seconds to go.Choker!
Premium Member Diesel Posted January 20, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 20, 2003 In reply to:Kobe/Walker are first options. Watch a Laker or a Celtic Game friend. Walker and Kobe are SECOND behind Pierce and SHAQ. Just because Shaq has been out doesn't mean that the offense doesn't still run through him. However, if you want to insist that Shaq is a Second Option... Go ahead. As a Second Option he makes about 12 million more than Reef. Again. It proves my point Kobe Lover. In reply to:All of those are better players than SAR.All of them have more desireto be sucessful....I'd take all those players over SAR without thinking twice. You can have Wallace, Finley, and Walker. Give ME REEF. For various reasons Reef is better than all those other guys. In reply to:His production of 19.7PPG 7.8RPG is the lowest since like his rookie season. He hasn't had a good season and the team is unimproved despite him playing with 2 20PPG scorers. Since you love Kobe so... How do you think playing with let's say BIg Dog would effect Kobe's Scoring average? You think he'd still average more than 25 with a guy who can score like Big Dog on his team? In reply to:Face it SAR isn't that good weither he doesn't have the desire or whatever I will say this. When SAR scores we win. Call it what you want.

" They care about winning and bring it everynight. And they don't say..."There was nothing I can do"like a helpless [censored]. I will say this. When SAR scores we win. Call it what you want. " Does he do it enough? He doesn't so who the [censored] cares? We are 12 games under .500 You claimed he would abuse double teams and average 25PPG this year...Didn;t happen.Every year you make a new excuse for this chump.Dace it,he's a loser and he thinks like one. Premium Member Diesel Posted January 20, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 20, 2003 So you would trade Reef for Outside Shooting Walker? Then you'd be sorry.
Guest
Walker has desire to win.yes I'd make the trade. I'd be sorry? Why?How can you be any sorrier than 14-26 losses? Can't get much worse. Reef's never been a winner and never will be.He will retire with good numbers on bad teams. Checkout Reef's win/loss record.Nothing more sorry than that. cyman3
than this is what will happen... ATL will still play poorly and lose BOS will still play well and win plain and simple. trading the 2 doesnt solve anything. IMO, abdur-rahim is a better PF (not by much though). Dont think WALKER could do any better....
Guest
Better passer-Walker Better 3pt shooter-Walker Bigger triple double threat-Walker Rebounding-Equal Scoring-Equal Reef averaging under a steal and block is unimpressive. Walker also brings attitude to a team.He knows what he wants to do.... Reef doesn't have enough attitude and desire. I think alot of it comes down to a mind game.Walker has a winning personality and wants to win more than Reef. reef has the awe [censored] it personality too much. That is very unattractive to watch in a player.Makes you think he'd be doing something else if it wasn't for the big paycheck.
