If Babcock is a lame duck, is Knight making more decisions than we realize? Is he being groomed for next year? I'm not too familiar with the structuring of upper-level management, but the fact that they brought him in at the beginning of the season reminds me of the Kruger/Stotts situation...Any thoughts?

Babcock is a lame duck, But I don't think Billy Knight was brought in by Kasten. I think Babcock realized he lacked Scouting.

There has been some talk that Kasten would bring in a basketball guy to be the team president while he (Kasten) steps back and lets him run the show. I think he really wishes he would have done that with Jerry West, even though West almost took the job anyway.

Plus, the Hawks could be sold and the new owners will most definitely make changes. I'm interested in seeing if the Larry Bird group will be willing to buy the Hawks and keep them in Atlanta. Larry Bird could be the team's next president.

Yeah, I think any move that happens this season will be Kasten's. I don't think this is an improvement.
