Premium Member mrhonline Posted April 17, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 17, 2003 I'm not arguing for or against, but should it be reconsidered, esp. if Big Hog is traded for a 2 guard?

Gray Mule
Does that move Theo to SAR's position and leave us looking for a center. If Nazr recovers and is O.K. could we get a huge banger to back him up - PLEASE!!! We really need another scorer. Hopefully, his name is DerMarr. We'll see. So many questions. Who will give us the final answers??
Guest
he's not a three! His shot takes awhile to get off. He's a set shooter from long range...he has more than Webber etc. in that area, but he's not a three. We have to continue to make him play the four, much like we made JT play the point. cynic
Making Reef play the three would be like making JT play the point. The four is Reef's more natural position. Making him play the four would be like making JT play the 2, as that is more natural for JT. We have to keep our analogies straight around here, or it's anarchy for us all. KB21
Except that JT is not more natural as a shooting guard. He's not a true point guard, but point guard is his position because he's better with the ball in his hands than without the ball. Reef is more natural at the 4, but he can play the 3. He played small forward for his first 5 seasons with Vancouver. Reef has the range on his shot, a very fast first step to the basket, and the ball handling ability to put the ball on the floor to drive to the basket. His best work is as a post up option though, which means that he would need a 4 that can extend the defense and shoot from the perimeter.
Guest
yep...if we had someone that could consistently shoot from long range. See DJ last year and his main (Secondary?) role on the team's offense - spot up shooter from long range.
