ESPN Has New Mock Draft Out

The Mock has Jarvis Hayes falling to us, Barbosa is below us, Diaw doesn't even make the second round. Those are some major changes that, if they played out, could benefit our Hawks.

Does that mean we will re-sign JT, then? Hayes would be good but he played SF @ UGA and can't dribble at all

If Luke Ridnour continues to drop, we could have a shot at him. He would be a great backcourt presence for us, because he's a natural PG, but he has the shot to play the 2.

agreed. we don't want Luke, even if he's available. Let DD branch out and make new friends, we shouldn't have to bring in his clone.

Yes, I know that their games are very similar, but Ridnour got more experience with playing against bigger, stronger players in the Pac-10 than Dickau had in the WCC, had close to the same stats, and he took the Ducks to the Elite Eight. I'm not saying that he's the best choice, but he could be OK compared to what's left.

but fact of the matter is that we're locked in with DD for a minimum of two more seasons (unless he's included in a trade for filler or something) and therefore, we have no need for another very similar player...I mean, say DD somehow became our starting pg (Terry trade)...you gonna sub him out for LR...that doesn't change matchups on the court at all...they have the same skill set as far as I know

I agree. That's why I think Atlanta has brought in just a few true point guard types for workouts. They know they have Dickau, and while he had some mixed results as a rookie, he can still develop into a quality point guard.

The Hawks are definitely concentrating more on swingmen.
