Playmaker0017
Now that back surgery has been performed. I hope Reef decides to go to the basket again. Hopefully, he has learned that waiting for the triple team is not a plus. Hopefully, he has learned that spinning to the middle is NOT as effective as spinning baseline. As one is spinning to the defenders, the other is away from. It used to be his most killer move. What do you guys think? Do you think we will see a more active Reef? Play. Guest
I think we'll see the same things we've always seen...Including excuses....
Playmaker0017
HotLanta, What excuses? And if we see the same Reef who scores 20+ PPG and 3 APG and 10 RPG and still has a low TO... I'm there.
Guest
Of course....As long as he has good stats...right?that's all that matters from JT and Shareef. As long as they put up good stats everything is good to go.lol The same excuses as to why he'll still be a loser. The team isn't built around him enough...blah blah Shareef is a transition player I'm convinced.Perhaps the Hawks will use him for another 6 years then maybe have a chance at the playoffs after that. Playmaker0017
Hots, You are right, if next year all Reef does is have an All-Star year... I'll be excited. Every fan of the Hawks should be excited, because next year that is as good as it is probably going to get. Play.
Guest
I'm just pointing out that did you see Mitch Richmond is Sactown all those years putting up stats on bad teams then the Kings used him to rebuild starting with Cwebb That is Shareef right there. He'll go through the league with good stats and nothing of importance to show for it. Playmaker0017
HotLanta, Personally, I see Reef more like Webber. Webber became a stud recently. He's always been good, but became his own recently. I think Reef will do that. Play.
Guest
The difference is Webber can pass, rebound and he's athletic.Shareef is no Webber.
Playmaker0017
Hots, Reef can pass. But, there is no proof since he isn't passing to people who can score. Reef rebounds decently. I wish he was more agressive, but you can't say that he is not a rebounder. He hovers around 9-10 a game. (except last year in which he was pagued by the back). Reef is athletic. He's athleticism isn't stregth though. It is quickness. Play.
TheDude
reef's a good player.....when you're not winning you never think your players are good enough.
CHORO44
Reef is our best player PERIOD. I hate hearing REEF is the worst power forward, he's not as good as Garnett or Webber or O'Neal. Every one of those guys has flaws in his game. REEF has flaws in his game. There are only a handful of players that don't and at this time only Kobe and MJ come to mind. Kobe and MJ have all the skills, the right attitude, and combine those to win. Also some guys are better because they have the right personnell around them. Have you ever played pickup ball with guys that play a different style than you or don't pass or don't play team defense. No matter how great an athelete you are the others around you effect your game. As for Reef, no he's not huge nor a monster rebounder. I love this guy because he's a beast in the paint for a smallish power forward. Webber is good but he's not agressive often settling for jump shots. He also has a great team and a great system around him. I tell you guys what. Get ONE star player next to Reef and if the team fails then I'll admit that Reef isn't good for this franchise. Until that happens his grade will be incomplete. He could also use a freaking NBA-Level coach. And no JT is not a star yet. He's good but he's not a dominating presence on the floor ala Paul Pierce. We need a dominator and I hope Billy is saving the capspace to lure one here. JT, Reef, and the dominator will win the East. We are only a few pieces away. beav
"The difference is Webber can pass, rebound and he's athletic.Shareef is no Webber. " He is a slightly better rebounder and is a bit more athletic than Shareef, true. He is also an egomaniac, perjurer and doesn't play thru injury. Here are their respective games played thru their careers: Webber 76 54 15 72 71 42 75 70 54 67 Shareef 80 82 50 82 81 77
Guest
So injuires is the only thing Reef has in his favor?Check out playoff numbers.Shareef losses big there.Even Washington went to the playoffs a time or two when Webber was there....Shareef's best effort is 35 wins. For all the games he has played...He still has little sucess other than stats. And Cwebb is a better shot blocker, rebounder, scorer, defender and a WAY better passer than Shareef. I'm sure you'll blame Shareef's teammates as to why he barely average 3APG. Blame everybody but Reef and JT.That's all you guys on here do. Face it....he isn't that good. beav
hes not much more of a rebounder and scorer... he is a better passer and that is about all that I'll give you... he is a dumbass and has many more mental breakdowns on defense than shareef does even though he has more physical ability... He has missed over 20% more games than shareef... add those numbers in and he has *considerably* less points and rebounds captain math wizard
Admin
I dont think that anyone going to consider Reef to be in the same class of elite players as Webber is (when he is healthy)......but Reef certainly isnt the garbage player you make him out to be Hotlanta. The guy has averaged what 20/8 for his career? He is an excellent player and is the young star that the Hawks will build around. He will never be known for his defense or passing, but he is still an excellent player.

Guest
Physically,he isn't that talented...It looks tough for him to get his hook shot over players.Plus if he was a good player he would have lead us to the playoffs in the weak east. Well he averages 20/8...Honestly,who cares besides the fans here?Other fans care about putting up those stats while not losing in blow outs to the heat and Grizzlies. Reef is the classic mopup player. He'll put up good numbers on trashy teams like Richmond did...but what will he have to show for it when he goes to retire?nothing. cyman3
"Reef is our best player PERIOD." - AMEN! Hes in a class higher than JT or RATLIFF. I think Reef could be an every year ALLSTAR... esp in the EAST
Guest
Webber is much like Reef, though slightly better. Still, it required his getting a much, much better TEAM around him for the personal glory to come. He needed someone who wanted to take the last shot, who wanted to be the man. Sheed's kinda in the same boat. The player doesn't necesarily have to be better than them, but be very good and think they're great...
Guest
Maybe it's all Reefs fate.I was very happy when we first got him. It's felt like a big letdown the last two years.Perhaps I didn't see enough in Memphis to see he was a finished product.I thought he'd improve to Webbers level...
