DrReality
That's a bad question to ask. My fear is he could get pretty dumb . . . . beyond what we've seen.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted January 20, 2009 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 20, 2009 Not as dumb as Toronto's coach (amazingly)... Why you wouldn't post Bargnani up against Flip is beyond me... maybe the kid is a terrible back the basket player IDK. You've got to really suck though if you're 7 feet tall and your coach won't post you up against a guard.
Premium Member NineOhTheRino Posted January 20, 2009 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) You guys do know that Woody played for Bobby Knight and coached under Larry Brown. You really think 2 HOF coaches could be fooled so easily? Edited January 20, 2009 by NineOhTheRino
Moderators AHF Posted January 20, 2009 Moderators Report Share Posted January 20, 2009 You guys do know that Woody played for Bobby Knight and coached under Larry Brown. You really think 2 HOF coaches could be fooled so easily? What is this supposed to mean? I think everyone agrees that Woodson is a fine defensive assistant coach so there was no fooling of Larry Brown. This is really a Peter principle issue with Woodson as a head coach without strong assistants. Isiah Thomas played for Bobby Knight but that doesn't mean he is a smart basketball executive or that Woodson is an effective offensive coach. All Knight cared about when Woodson played under him was whether Woodson could produce on the floor and whether he would jump when Knight yelled "jump." Traceman
Bosh and Bargnani on the floor and Smith is the biggest guy out there??? Bargnani had 14 pts when being guarded by Zaza or Solo and 6 for the rest of the game. Neither Zaza or Solo is used to trying to guard guys 18+ feet from the basket which is where Bargnani likes to play. Bargnani may be 7 feet tall but he plays like a SF or SG. With Marvin being out, JJ being on him for most of the 4th was the right call.
