A Victim of the Woodson Cycle

*Woodson Cycle (n) - Originated in the game of basketball by coach Mike Woodson. Refers to a player's time on the court, which at first glance seems to swing wildly from game to game. Under further examination it becomes clear that it is a repeating cycle thrust upon rookie/second year PGs by coach Woodson. Said PG will be given decent-to-good minutes in consecutive games and play well, only to see his playing time cut drastically over the next few games. Often leads to lack of consistency and confidence in the rookie PGs. After getting little to no PT for consecutive games, Woodson will appear aghast that said PG isn't clicking on all cylinders when he finally does get back on the court.

Here comes Northcyde barging in defending Woodson in 5...4...3...2...

Anyway, this will be Teague's stat line come Friday night:

Teague DNP: Woody's Memory/Acie Treatment

If it is a close game he will get five minutes a the end of the second half. If we are down double digits he won't play. If we are down 20 he will get five minutes at the end of the game.

That has been the pattern so far.

Teague traveled, then made unforced switch on D and picked up Daniels who cut to the rim and scored easily with foul. Bench was the answer from Woodson. Plus that airball lay up.

Hope he'll get chance against Hornets.
