mattlanta
According to "Hawks PR Man" on Twitter, the Hawks have released their reserve forward Othello Hunter. I guess with the "emergence" of Collins, we don't really need any more big men like Othello... he might have been taking too long to develop anyways. spotatl
I think its more to do with the fact that his contract would have become guaranteed this week.

This might be a precursor to adding someone else to the roster. Maybe Stackhouse is coming after all. LOL . . or the return of Super Mario. spotatl
The Hawks already had 2 empty roster spots before waiving Hunter.

D.R.P.
Via Hawks P.R.Arthur Triche's twitter page Othello Hunter was released today. Now maybe the Hawks will go out and get a veteran backup pg. Edited January 5, 2010 by D.R.P.
gsuteke
they'll probably sign him back later to avoid guaranteeing the deal
MrRyda
I'd take a lot of D-League players before Othello. That includes Rio.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 6, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 6, 2010 They'll do what gsuteke suggests or they'll sign some NBDLers to 10-day contracts. Personally I'd like to see a veteran defender at the guard position. If it's a D-Leaguer, I'd like to see a defender like Dowdell...
Premium Member mrhonline Posted January 6, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 6, 2010 Frank Robinson apparently played his butt off in the D-League Showcase today. Sekou mentioned the Hawks really liking him during the camp; I wonder if he'll get a shot on a ten-day?
