Malachi
WKNR 850 AM's Michael Reghi, who I will join in minutes, is reporting that Z has decided to re-sign with the Cavs. http://twitter.com/PDcavsinsider Edited February 26, 2010 by Malachi
Colin
Haha, obviously. Anybody who thought we had a chance at him was delusional.
Moderators AHF Posted February 26, 2010 Moderators Report Share Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) Not remotely surprising news, but the fact that he didn't even listen to offers from other teams is only going to build the resentment for this move and for this rule. Birdman316
so let me get this straight: Cleveland just got Jameson for pretty much nothing!!!
Premium Member niremetal Posted February 26, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 26, 2010 Assuming this is true, I'm surprised that he did it this quickly. Teams aren't even allowed to sign him until Monday because he has to clear waivers, right? And the buyout was finalized yesterday? Announcing his decision before the ink even dried on his buyout rather than even pretending to entertain other teams' offers will raise a lot more eyebrows about there being an honest-to-goodness prearranged deal than he'd get if he just waited a week. His agent is an idiot.

Don't forget about the last pick in the first round. You know, the worst possible pick with a guaranteed salary.
frankthetank966
ESPN is saying he has not signed anything but they assume he will go back.
Premium Member mrhonline Posted February 27, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 27, 2010 And in swoops David Aldridge, fresh off a phone call with Z's agent, trying to dispel a "rumor" that would force the NBA to look into this situation. Thank goodness Aldridge is so well respected. LOL. So shady...
Premium Member sturt Posted February 27, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 27, 2010 Actually, if it's going to happen as everyone thought it would, then this is the best way for it to happen... it may be a numbskull move on the agent's part, but it obviously heightens suspicioni/scrutiny that much more, and if it weren't already impossible for this rule to continue to exist, this should be the final nail in that coffin... right? So, in reality, there couldn't really be a better development here.

Shaq is out with a dislocated thumb leaving them without a dominant big man, perfect timing.

Yeah... bad karma seems to find its way into things when people try to manipulate systems a little too much... this hopefully might be one of those times.
