Not remotely surprising news, but the fact that he didn't even listen to offers from other teams is only going to build the resentment for this move and for this rule.

Assuming this is true, I'm surprised that he did it this quickly. Teams aren't even allowed to sign him until Monday because he has to clear waivers, right? And the buyout was finalized yesterday? Announcing his decision before the ink even dried on his buyout rather than even pretending to entertain other teams' offers will raise a lot more eyebrows about there being an honest-to-goodness prearranged deal than he'd get if he just waited a week.

Actually, if it's going to happen as everyone thought it would, then this is the best way for it to happen... it may be a numbskull move on the agent's part, but it obviously heightens suspicioni/scrutiny that much more, and if it weren't already impossible for this rule to continue to exist, this should be the final nail in that coffin... right? So, in reality, there couldn't really be a better development here.

This is a perfect time to gain on those Cavs. There's a 30 day period before he can officially sign with the Cavs from what I hear. Shaq is out with a dislocated thumb leaving them without a dominant big man, perfect timing.
