Seano
he was going to be my next pick...I was banking on people overlooking him but I guess I was just a tad to late. But great pick, his defense is definitely remarkableSorry, dude. Still lots of good players and prospects out there though!

Moderators AHF Posted June 20, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted June 20, 2011 (edited) The U-Niques select 25 year old small forward, Jared Dudley. Dudley has spent years as the defensive specialist for the Bobcats and then the Suns before breaking out last season as more than a good 3pt shooter on offense. With his career 41.3% from 3pt range, he makes a fantastic outlet on offensive and after taking over as a starter for UNDRAFTED, he averaged 16 ppg and 6 rpg. While he won't have to put up 16 ppg on this team, the additional offense is a welcome dimension to his game. With his defense, emerging offense, and ability to spread the floor, Dudley makes a perfect glue guy for our starting lineup and enhances the talents of the rest of the roster on both sides of the ball. Welcome aboard. Round 8 120. IHeartAtlanta - JR Smith 121. Colin/Devon - Darren Collison 122. coachx
So have we figured out how we're going to determine the best team?I'm personally more intersted in looking back on this at the end of the next few seasons to see how players perform. It will be interesting to see what young players continue to grow and which veterans age and/or retire quicker then some expected.

Definitely a thread to resurrect periodically and a good reason not to rush it through (although the current slow pace is a bit frustrating).yeah, I hope we can at least get it back to where there are about 4-5 picks a day....this 1 maybe 2 picks is just WAY to slow. And I agree about looking back at this over time but i also want to have some kind of winner declared at the end of this, or if no winner then at least a good healthy argument about who everyone thinks will win
Supporter
The loophole that I see in this is the longevity of the franchise's. I mean, I had to change my whole draft in order to get impact players that will last for 10 more years. What are we going to do about the guys that centered their franchise around studs that will only last 5 or 6 years more.
Seano
I've looked for good basketball sims so we could simulate a season (or preferably seasons), but I have had no luck with finding any. I play a lot of baseball sims, and was hoping for an NBA equivalent to the Sports Mogul or Out of the Park baseball sim games, and I would happily purchase something like that, but I'm just not seeing anything even comparable to that out there. There's also What If Sports, though I know less than nuttin about that. So if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, recommendations or whatever RE: trying to sim this thing out, feel free to give me a shout.

coachx
Certainly not the only way to play around with this, but I am thinking we start a thread where people post their rosters and then people can vote and comment. Ya, that is one of many ways though it would truely be for entertainment purposes only if done before the season starts. Lets look at recent reality as an illustration of my basic point. After all, the Dallas Mavericks would not have been voted NBA Champions before the season started or even before the playoffs started. They would have been lucky to get out of the 2nd round as far as popular voting goes. The Lakers, Thunder, and Spurs were getting the love out West far more then the Mavericks but championships are earned on the basketball court rather then the court of public opinion. Plus the Heat and Celtics, of the East, would have been far more popular picks then the Mavericks before the 2010-11 season. Heck, the Mavericks were coming off 2 straight 1st Round Playoff exits before their veteran club beat King James and Wade for the NBA Championship. I'm all for a poll after a full season and playoffs play out. That would be worth some weight but not a poll before any games are played next year. That would be both silly and foolish in my book. For those intersted in TRUTH.........we have to wait for time to play out to see what veterans age well or decline rapidly and what young players grow as their GM projected them to grow. Admin capstone21 Posted June 20, 2011 Admin Report Share Posted June 20, 2011 I add some fire power to my bench with the selection of : Carl Landry In Landry I get excellent post scoring off the bench. At 6'9 240 was going to win 6th man until he got traded to the Sac Kings and was made a starter. I really like the inside / outside of he and Jason Richardson off the bench. I think he is an excellent addition and my roster is really coming together. sultanofatlanta u r up

Probably the best defensive SF in the game. He is 5th in double doubles amoungst Sfs. However, here's the great part... Defensive stopper. During these past playoffs.. He shut down: Kobe.. A guy off the bench backing up Billups who can shot the heck out of the pill and is a gifted passer. His defense is lacking but with the rest of the players I have I think we can hide him a bit and with my next pick I'm taking Carlos Delfino
