Simply getting value in return for an expiring (and aging) asset. Lakers would love Hinrich - perfect fit there. He's ruined our rotation.

We would get way clear of the luxury tax and gain the TPE.

Maybe, but remember, these are the Lakers - they are one of the few teams that can build in the trade market. They probably don't value the pick as high as we might.

That's the main problem right now. They are old and need youth. No longer do they have phil. They have a guy who can train.

Lakers don't have time to hope for picks in the 20s to mature. Kobe is 34 next year. Their window is short. If they really have two picks, I think they might do this - if they value Hinrich as high as we've seen reported.
