The more I thought about it last night the more I don't like the pick. This was a guy that easily could have slid into the early second round and there were better players still on the board when we took him. And for all the guys screaming on here about how we needed a shooter I'm going to have ask what the heck are you talking about. The two biggest needs on this team are true centers and true point guards and we didn't draft either one of those. We took a slow one dimensional kinda short for a two guard guy and followed that up with a 23 year old fifth year senior coming off ankle surgery at a position we have absolutely no need for.Unless Ferry has some deals worked out to trade Josh and Joe I just don't see where either of these guys help us or are frankly any better than some of the vet. min. guys we've found before in free agency.

I agree with you, but I thought about it more. We are going to have 6 players on this roster if we cannot resign anyone of our free agents. I think the idea was to he guys who could contribute immediately.

That is my impression as well. The Hawks need bodies and guys to start putting into the "system". Remember Ferry said that this is going to take a few years to build correctly. Jenkins is a guy to fill out the bench, but should be able to contribute this year.

In terms of PJ3, there must be a serious medical and attitude concerns for him to fall to the bottom of the 1st round. The last thing the Hawks need right now is another guy who has a questionable motor and who can be influenced by our other guys who have questionable motors. OKC has a system built where they can take a chance on PJ3, the Hawks just aren't there.

ABSOLUTELY horrible pick. He is not even a rotation player he is a specialist just like Vlad Rad was last year. You will go weeks at a time without even saying Jenkins on the floor just like you did with Vlad Rad. I think people are failing to distinguish a rotation player from a specialist. Jenkins is a guy that you put in and hope to get him 3 or 4 shots if he is making he plays if not back to the bench. A role player is Kirk Hinrich a combo guard that you think has good defense and you think can be more sturdy than your young PG at times. Jenkins, a specialists when you only have 6 players under contract was just dumb. You just gave Vlad Rad a 3 year guaranteed contract.

See this is what I am talking about.. The guy creates his own shots and has a game alot like Reggie Miller..Now would you call Reggie Miller a specialist?

to add to the post above I am in no way shape or form saying this guy is going to be on the same lvl as Miller..Just that they have similar games

The guy is more Jodie Meeks than Reggie Miller or Ray Allen

Yes he is a specialists not a star like Miller or Allen. More Daquean Cook, James Jones, Vlad Rad type. Only in the game for one thing and may get several DNP's coaches decision because his skill was not needed or he has been slumping so bad at the time

The people who want jj gone can use this as a sign that we will trade or amnesty jjWe arent gonna, but this should give you extra fodder for your dreaming

How's that crow tasting Nicky? Who's dreaming now? Have fun Joe apologists crying in your diapers. Okay, that was immature of me but I just had to.

Pick looks even worse now. A one dimensional player will either end of starting or killing you because he is forced to play rotation minutes

You're right, and it's unfortunate. It would be wise to look into trading Jenkins if possible. I'd rather start Morrow if nothing better comes up - he has at least proven that he can hold his own out there on D. No better shooter in the league.
