He turns 29 in Feb. and we have assets to acquire him two years left on his contract.A guy like this a perfect compliment to Josh and Al imo. Some wanted to trade Josh for him back when he played in Orlando and the patience could work in our favor here. We now have expirings, young talent, and 1st rounders to facilitate a solid trade.

We can sign Al Jefferson at the end of the season without giving up any assets. I would trade Josh Smith for Gortat. He isn't that good!

I would not mind having Gortat but I think they would want more than expirings and some mid first round picks. We are probably going to have to take a contract back that we don't want. I would definitely trade Petro and Morrow/Harris + a future protected 1st for Gortat and Dudley.

Gortat for Petro, Morrow, and a protected future 1st would be my offer. He really probably isn't the longterm answer but he would definitely help with rebounding and moving Josh and Al up a position.

I like Gortat but i wouldn't think they'd give him away but you never know. In the east this guy will get some rebounds.

We'd probably have to give up Jenkins and take back Dudley to get Gortat, but if he's really pushing to leave that's probably worth it.
