We were paid off to take him so Dallas could cut salary. Dallas let us move up from 18 to 16 and threw in the 44th pick.If he turns out to even make the roster it's gravy. He was a 1st round pick last year so he must have some talent.

Good point - I hadn't thought it through. Not exactly a player who was being pursued...I guess we will see.

Has elite athleticism... Is an explosive leaper... Has good size and length for an NBA SG... Moves well without the ball and understands spacing... Is a good slasher with a natural ability to get to the hoop... Has good shooting mechanics... Is a good ball handler with a quick first step... Runs the floor well and finishes in transition... Is an solid defender... Can draw fouls effectively.

Weaknesses:

Needs to put on weight... Exhibits questionable shot selection at times... Does not have a great midrange shot... Does not have a high basketball IQ.

Not bad for a throw away player.

NBA.com compared him to Russell Westbrook coming out of college. Just need someone to season that talent.Work on his jumper and get him in a weight room and we have a steal.

He is a combo guard so he can give us minutes at the 1 and 2 ala Westbrook. Dude likes to play above the rim, I think he has as much of a chance to be in rotation as anyone
