NBASupes
Haha it's crazy to compare him to Sheed but you can compare Horford to Malone? And how the heck can you compare Payne to Marcus Fizer? Have you ever seen Fizer play? Even if you Youtubed Fizer I still can't see even 1 comparison, oh wait maybe a couple, they were both forwards and they both enjoyed oxygen. Horford to Malone is reasonable based on skill-set and talent. You can't change Jeff Teague into John Stockton. Didn't I explain Fizer to Payne earlier and true be told, I can't even be 100% with it as I really haven't watch much of Payne. So for now, I am basing it off of DX video and his scouting report on DX, nba.com and nbadraft.net. I actually watched Fizer heavily. I know Marcus game in and out. It's Payne who I really haven't watched and when I watched them, I wasn't paying him no mind, I was focused on Gary Harris and I rarely watched so... I would be the first to say I haven't seen much of Payne.
Moderators AHF Posted June 27, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted June 27, 2014 I can't believe I just saw yet another post saying Al Horford > Karl Malone. Hoford just completed his age 27 season and has a grand total of 5 games of 30+ points and career high of 34. In his age 24 season alone, Malone had 34 games of 30+ points. Horford's career high is 2 games of 30+ points. "Let it go, let it go...Hoford will never be Malone...let it go, let it go...he is never going to be close..."

Since when is John setting up Al for easy buckets and Al getting Karl's ball usage. I guess we should say since Amare has much better scoring stats than Tim that he's better. Just ignore skill, talent, etc.

I totally empathize. On Malone/Horford It is simple: Karl Malone had more 30+ point game by age 25 than Al Horford will see in his entire career. Right now it stands: Malone at age 27: 167 games Horford at age 27: 5 games John Stockton can't possibly account for that kind of disparity. Admin
And damn I knew the minute I threw out the Karl Malone - Al Horford thing that I could be Pavlov and get Soups salivating at the comparison. "It's too easy. No no no it's too easy." Damn @Spud2Nique what movie is that from? I'm having a brain fart here and I bet you'd remember. One of the House Party movies maybe? Moderators AHF Posted June 27, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted June 27, 2014 Usage... John Stockton Usage... John Stockton Usage... John Stockton Usage... John Stockton Totally accounts for 167 to 5. Kind of like how Pau Gasol had more 30+ point games in 2008-09 alone with Derek Fisher as his PG and a usage rate of 20.4%. Horford usage rate the last two seasons: 21.8%, 24.7% Usage.... Derek Fisher....

Derek Fisher.... Pau Gasol is a much more versatile offensive player than Horf. Horf is a PnR/PnP movement player specialist. Comparing him to Gasol little to no sense as they don't have the same skill-set. Gasol probably has some of the best post moves from a PF we have seen. For offense: Karl Malone > Pau Gasol > Al Horford I am having a tough time swallowing your ranking: Pau Gasol > Al Hoford > Karl Malone You can use a lot of examples of guys who have exceeded Horford with lower usage rates and non-Stockton PGs, I just picked Gasol given the usage rate and terrible PG (for creative passing). Dave Cowens more 30+ games in 1977-78 than Horford has had in his career. 18.8% usage rate Otis Thorpe more 30+ games in 1986-87 than Horford's career best season. 20.0% usage rage Bill Cartwright more 30+ games in 1979-80 than Horford has had in his career. 20.6% usage rate Robert Parish more 30+ games in 1983-84 than Horford has had in his career. 21.3% usage rate Truck Robinson more 30+ games in 1980-81 than Horford has had in his career. 21.5% usage rate Tom Owens more 30+ games in 1978-79 than Horford has had in his career. 21.5% usage rate Bob Lanier more 30+ games in 1979-80 than Horford's career best season (missed 20 games). 21.6% usage rage Jack Sickma more 30+ games in 1984-85 than Horford's career best season (missed 15 games). 22.1% usage rage Elvin Hayes more 30+ games in 1977-78 than Horford has had in his career. 21.6% usage rate You could add plenty more names to this list. Someone like Buck Williams is more the type of name we should be discussing when looking at historical comparables than Karl Malone.
