sd79
Bucks are playing without Tim Thomas, Brian Skinner and Toni Kukoc. Joe Smith has a bad ankle but will probably play. So unless Stotts puts Glover on Redd and he goes for 50 like The Answer did the other night we'll get a W. Without Thomas and Kukoc Bucks are def. lacking shooters. We'll see what happens. swolehawk2
Yeah we should get this one....if we can string a few of these winnable games together we can be in the thick of things in the east. If we play inside out with Reef we should be in games on most nights.
Admin capstone21 Posted December 2, 2003 Admin Report Share Posted December 2, 2003 Well D Mason has really stepped it up the last few games and the Bucks are still playing well. We could win tonight...wether it will happen or not is left to be said. Hopfully SAR can keep up his play from last week when he finally started playing like an allstar. Too bad no one else is playing well.
Gray Mule
The scary part is, we ARE and HAVE BEEN in almost every game we have played this season. Two that I remember and possibly three, we were blown away. In the rest of the losses, we were fairly close, even going into overtime on several occasions. We don't need much to get over the hump. Just a little. But, we never seem to find that "Little extra" that is necessary. A turnover here and there. A missed free throw or two. Nothing much, but everything when the final score is tallied up. In EVERY O.T. loss, hitting one more free throw would have meant one more point and a victory - No O.T. In EVERY O.T. loss, one less turnover that lead to points, and Hawks win. Little stuff that no one seems to worry about at the time. It might have happened in the first or second quarter, but it happens. Little mistakes that will not go away. A moment of indecision. A time when the mind wanders off, not for a long period of time, but a few seconds. Perhaps, you are distracted by trash talk. Maybe you are stewing at the ref for that last call. Stuff happens. Hawks end up on the short end of another close one. If the Hawks can solve the little problems, the big problems will go away. They will start winning their part of these close games that now end up in the loss column for us. GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!
JTFan31
The way I look at this team is this way. I actually think we have been playing well enough lately. We have lost 2 of the last 3 because of bad coaching. The team is hustling, rebounding and turning the ball over less. We have let 2 guys go for season highs, in less that a week and you cannot blame Dion and JT, because AI and Vince will torched anyone in this league one-on-one. Stotts must come up with some kind of system to take the ball out of the hand of those kind of players late in the game or maybe we should of played zone defense and put more attention on Vince and AI's side. Stotts failed us in those 2 games and not the players.
cyman3
"The scary part is, we ARE and HAVE BEEN in almost every game we have played this season." - not being able to go OVER THE EDGE... and win the close games = 90% COACHES FAULT
ersimo2889
"- not being able to go OVER THE EDGE... and win the close games = 90% COACHES FAULT " I completely agree with you. Third quarter breakdowns should also be blamed on a coach's inability to make the correct adjustments or even motivate the players enough to go out and play hard in the second half. Terry Stotts just isn't feiry enough to do that sort of thing.
Plainview1981
Motivate these guys to do what? None of them other than Theo have really played a big part in winning any where. Jackson riding DUncans back doesn't count... I just don't understand what you expect Stotts to do with this team.
Premium Member Diesel Posted December 3, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 3, 2003 You don't understand nor do you have any hope because you have never seen what a winner looks like. You've been here for the Kruger's and the Stotts, but you wasn't here for Fratello or even Early Wilkens.... Winning coaches: 1. Know how to coach. Say what you want about Lenny, nobody took advantage of matchups better than Lenny. I think it can be said that not many coaches got their teams to overacheive better than Lenny. 2. Know how to motivate. Fratello was a master motivator. He was also very good with the Xs and Os. 3. Know how to teach the game. Again, Fratello's picture goes here. A guy who teach as good if not better than Fratello is Larry Brown. However, Larry is not the motivator that Fratello is. 4. Know how to make adjustments. This (IMHO) is Stott's failing. Both Lenny and Fratello were good X and O guys and they could make adjustments. Bottom line is that Lenny was right... If the Hawks are going to be successful, they will have to bench JT until he learns how to be a PG. He does nothing PGish. And is it me or did we try to stop Milwaukee at all? Ford had 9 dimes. Jones had 10 dimes???
Plainview1981
I understand that nobody wanted Lee Nailon...Why does nobody want him? I understand the interest in JT was very small. We both know why......Even Denver didn't want Dion....They went out and got old man Lenard instead...You know why? I understand that if wasn't for the Hawks.. Jacque Vaughn likely wouldn't be playing. Atleast half of this roster is players no other team would really want. They aren'g good enough to win. You can point to the Jazz...But they have a 18/7 guy in Harping THAT PLAYS GOOD DEFENSE....They have a real center whom I'd take over Theo.....Andrei has more potential that anybody on the hawks roster...Arryo was a guy that I believe has played very well overseas. Just because he wasn't well known doesn't mean he isn't any good. I told you this team wouldn't win last year and I told you it wouldn't win this year. It just isn't a very talented team and if you thik this team has any chance to be a 50 game winner you know very little about basketball.

Plainview1981
Tah is playing better tahn Theo this year...Tag atleast hits the boards and is a big body. With Theo the team stives gives up about 45PPG in the paint each night.
