Six more sleeps

Six more sleeps until the first regular season game.

 

The Hawks wrapped up this preseason with a 4 and 3 record.  The last time the Hawks had a winning record in the preseason was 2009 when the squad consisted of Bibby, JJ, Marv, Smoove, Horf, and 6th man Crawford.  One of my favorite teams in recent history.

 

Can't wait to see what this years team is capable of.

and what's crazy is we could have been 6-1 if the Grizz and Bulls didn't play their starters throughout the 4th quarter while we had our scrubs in.  We didn't look so hot in the Pistons and Hornets games and looked great in all of the others.  They were all playoff caliber teams as well.

Meanwhile we wait.  And wait.  And wait.

 

While we attempt to sleep, we dream of "the real thing" where the games

all count. 

 

Games where the Hawks run their opponent until their tongue hangs out.

Where our all star center returns to action and fast break after fast break follows.

We dream the impossible dream of the undefeated season.  We dream of meeting

our biggest opponent, whoever the dreamer thinks it should be, and we thrash

them into submission.

 

We dream of a season with minimum of injuries and where, while that starter is

out, his replacement plays better than the starter does.

 

We dream that, as our opponent clogs the inside to prevent those fast break shots

"in the lane" that have been causing them to fall further and further behind, the

Hawks turn to the three ball and hear, "Nothing but net!" from the announcer.  If

our opponent fouls the Hawk players in their attempt to stop this, every foul shot

goes in!  Not a miss all game.

 

And, as we are dreaming, won't it be great that, finally, all the Hawk games are on T.V.

 

We dream that the national media, those "experts" that are everywhere, always pick

our opponent to win and are always wrong until some of them finally has to admit,

"These Atlanta Hawks are for real!"

 

Just a few more sleeps until it begins.  Meanwhile, let me dream!

It threw me off when looking at ESPN->Scores to see what time the game starts.  I couldn't find it until I realized they changed the Hawks logo to the PAC.....looking slick for the world to see!

 

I got signed up with my ballstreams account yesterday and it's looking really good.  Let's do this!!!!
