History repeats

Last year it was Thabo and Pero for us with a whole lot of drama added to it by the NYPD. This year DMC and Cory Joseph at a casino at 2:00 AM during the ECF. I realize we are talking about adults but still decision making off the court during the Raptor's best run in the playoffs looks as important as the decisions during the actual games.

Last time I checked, those two were grown men. The coach seemed to be fine with it so what's the problem? These players have certain sleep cycles based off game schedule and body readiness.

Yeah, funny thing is (TOR asst. coach) Jerry Stackhouse has a rep for being a casino guy so he probably was there with them. 

Anyways, I agree they're not kids and their sleep cycle is different than "normal" so I won't bang on them for being in the casino at that time.

However, I'd say you file this under 'if you're gonna be in a casino before the game, you better not have apparent effort issues during the game'.  Their listless play invites this criticism.

Not saying their not adults. The coach made a politically correct team statement and I would be very surprised if he really is okay with it. Wouldn't expect him to throw his players under the bus for the media to swallow up. The ECF is on the line.  After two big wins they got blown out and didn't look like they belonged on the same court. Our own coach Bud didn't throw Jeff under the bus after he didn't play him in closing minutes against the Cavs. Nine nine percent of the time coaches play political defense to avoid making a possible situation worse.

The coach sounded very not OK with it by my read.  Just sounded like he was going to address it in-house and didn't want to make it an excuse for getting destroyed.  Thus the refusal to say whether he would fine them or not.

Does it really matter that much?

I mean, they were there at 2:00 AM.  The game was  until 8:30 PM.

DeMarre and Joseph wasn't going to get you 40 more points.

You should think about it a different way, when is the time of the Day when you are most productive? And now think about the time the ecf games are played? Would you still go to sleep AT 10 in the evening?

As long they aren't drunk, is it ok if they use there spare time to relax..  and there arent many places who are open at those times.

Why would anyone be drinking hanging out at clubs or casinos surrounded by drunk people?  I am sure these guys have some tea and biscuits.

These things are such non-stories. The players can do what they want. It had no bearing on the game.

The real story is that something in Cleveland was open past 9pm on a Tuesday.

Especially in rhe thabo case i would be sure that thiswould be mentioned in the Police report. And I am quite sure ut would be the bigger story than that they go out and would be mentioned by the press.

It could be in the same way that teenagers can date without kissing.  It happens every once in a while but isn't the norm at all.

If you are saying that these guys who go partying in the early morning hours on game days are all drinking water and Coke then I would say I've got a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.  PM me and we can discuss the bargain price.

What do the team fines go towards?  Regardless, I would've fined them stupid heavy.  The f&@k was they thinking.    Unnecessary distraction on so many levels.
