Anyway to get Shaq?

Anybody have anyways that Atlanta could get Shaq? I feel

if ownership is serious about winning if we could get Shaq

more FA's would jump aboard the Hawks could finally have

a real shot at the finals.

No way unless we send them Hendu and Craw with all our draft picks for this year and probably a future first unprotected as well..

I'd do almost anything. I know some are going to say

that it's a bad idea because Shaq will only play 3 or

4 more years at a high level. However, a trade for Shaq

would put the Hawks on the map for the first time in

forever. You add Shaq and you can draw FA's. The team

could have JT(I'd love to replace him)Jackson/Kenyon

Martin and Shaq could be a contender for the finals.

The fans would support the team better if Shaq was

here.

I agree that Shaq will bring Atl attention, He would draw, FAs, he maybe even able to turn around an apathetic fan base. Nevertheless the price to acquire him may be too high. I would not mind seeing him in a Hawks uniform though, in fact I would pay to see it.

With rasies and whatnots, we'd be looking at one player taking up 70% of our available salary cap. Meaning Shaq comes, we sign nobody else. We'd also likely have to trade multiple 1st rounders, plus any talent that we have. It's going to be very difficult for any team to trade for him without destroying their roster.

I think somehow he will go to Orlando. I think that either us, Utah, or Charlotte will help facilitate. For instance, i think that the deal will be Shaq for Howard, Hill, and a Gang of first rounders including #1 overall.

In order to make that happen, Orlando will trade Gooden, Garrity, and everybody else with significant contracts for future picks... First or Second rounders. The question then becomes... How well can Tmac/Shaq play together?

If they offered us Gooden/Garrity for a future 1st. I might say... Take it.
