  1. Does anybody think that Bogi is low-key being selfish because he was told he was going to be a bench player this year? He seems to scoff at that assertion every-time someone brings it up to him. I think as long as he thought he was competing for a starting role, he was ok with putting his body on the line. Now that he has be relegated to a bench role, he is playing it super safe.
  2. I wanted to see that lineup in the fourth quarter against the Kings. It was clear John was struggling for what ever reason so I was wondering if Nate was going to go back to what worked in the first half with AJ and JJ. Wishful thinking. Don’t get me wrong, I like John and thinks he needs to play through his struggles, but it would have been interesting to see if Nate had put that lineup back out there, what would have happened.
  3. I agree with you on Dre. Lost me on the Trae comparison but I will take the exceptionally loyal title. Lol.
  4. He is the most efficient rookie in his class and probably the most efficient rookie I have ever seen. He is doing this with spot duty on a veteran team that initially didn’t have him in the rotation. We are winning as well. I will admit, after the draft, I wasn’t expecting much from him. The last two Duke prospects we drafted were still question marks at the time.
  5. You of all people should be the most optimistic about this team. Lol. You have been through the most horrors. It should be obvious to all of us here that this is the best era of Hawks basketball. With the negative outlook, you may miss out on the best parts. FWIW, I have only been a fan for a measly 34 years.
  6. AJ and JJ played really well that first half. It is really nice to see them play impactful minutes.
  7. Understood. Trae needs to shoot better period. This has been discussed because his field gaol percentage, 3 point percentage and true shooting percentage are all career lows. We had discussed that this is likely due to him adjusting to him being off the ball, having a new back court mate, and adjusting to where and when he should take his shots. All the while other teams are game planning against him as our number one option. What I have noticed is that when he is the second or third person to receive the ball on offense, he is not ready to shoot. He is use to taking his time to set up his own shot. That little bit of hesitation is disrupting his shot. He has to trust that when gets a pass from Murray off of a screen that his is already in a position to shoot and he needs to let it fly. If it is not there then he needs to get off the ball quickly to keep the offense moving. Your point is valid, I just thought it was a weird game to bring it up.
  8. Understood but it just seems unrealistic to focus on that when he is literally making nba hisrory every night while lifting this team to a place it has never been. It is almost like focusing on your best homerun hitter’s .329 batting percentage and he is on pace to break the home run record. We wouldn’t ask him to bunt or base hit just improve his batting average and stop taking shots for the fence would we? Look, his shooting percentage is bad, and it needs to improve, but that is the least of my worries because he has shown he can shoot it better. Even if it doesn’t improve but we keep winning at this clip, I will be very happy.
  9. Seems like we have a heavy pick and roll type offense. No Stanford offense type plays. I think the pick and roll offense could have more ball movement if others who weren't involved in the pnr would move without he ball. It is so noticeable when AJ does it. The ball is forced to move because he keeps loving to the open spot even though he isn’t the one setting the screen.
  10. It is not difficult to understand at all because we have already talked about it at nauseam. But we usually do that after he has a bad game shooting. This game he shot well so it was just a weird time to point that out again. The entire team is shooting well below the expected shooting percentage including Trae but are managing ways to win. We know that Trae, John, Bogi and Hunter have much better career averages shooting percentage wise and if I had to hang my hat on anything, it would be them shooting a better percentage by season's end and when it matters the most in the playoffs. Not taking personal shots at all.
  11. Hide Trae on? You really think he is a liability on this team? Both those boys scored below their season averages while Trae dropped a cool 33.
  12. Great win tonight. And it was pretty because we won. Lol. Everybody is not going to have it going every night, but it appears we have a team where others step when some are struggling. That is a sign of a good team. At this point, we have seen everyone play well individually at some point and everyone struggle individually at another and yet we are the 6th best team in the league with more than 60 games to go. The only thing we haven’t seen is Bogi in the mix. It will take him about 20 games to get in rhythm and hopefully we can maintain a winning record while he adjusts.
  13. The guy scores 33 points in a win and we need to have a discussion? We are 11-7. Other NBA teams are there trying to win too.
  14. Yeah that’s why he is a great defacto GM.
  15. Have to sprinkle in a little positivity here and there so as not to reveal true intent.
  16. Ahh…you know it is nice when Squakwers are arguing over how good a Hawks draftee/player is. Lol.
  17. What I think I love about his game the most is his ability to stay active and move without the basketball. He is decisive and urgent whether he has the ball or not. He puts pressure on the opposing teams because he won’t stay still and he is always an outlet for his team. He is always ready to shoot as soon as he touches the ball and if the shot is not there, he knows exactly what to do with it. This awareness seems to be translating to defense too.
  18. He was doing that for the Sky hawks. He just needs time and opportunity.
