  1. Is it me or does this team look like what we thought they would be in terms of sharing the ball? Trae Young is very good at basketball. AJ and Jalen! Let’s go!
  2. I actually agree with with making it public that John can seek a trade. It was clear to me his team was leaking all the information to the media. We don’t need that kind crap in the organization. So if his camp can’t find a better situation, they need to sit back and understand the situation and keep things tight lipped and recommit. If he can find something better that brings us a fair return, hen win win.
  3. The real question is, will Tony fire his son if all this doesn’t work out? This isn’t a Jerry Jeanie situation. We are not as successful as the Lakers were to be fooling around like this.
  4. Man oh man…sigh. Ok here goes. I am a Hawks fan and this will not stop that. I hope Hawk Moore is wrong about this being only about money because they have already flipped in value. As a basketball fan this seems like the total wrong way to go to be successful. HOWEVER, I am a Hawks fan and we have never won anything significant doing it they old way and if these owners aren’t all about money, then let’s see how aggressive they can get to take us where we have never been before. Nick needs to come out in public like a man and “own up”to his role and take charge. I don’t care how they choose to run their franchise but I do care about winning. Figure it out guys. Do it fast.
  5. Trae = JT. Lol. but I am right there with you though. Remember it like yesterday. I still have hope in this team though.
  6. Not true. MJ is incredibly thin skinned. He fought teammates in practice, refused to pass to teammates, he would takes slights from unknown rookies, and hold it over their heads for years. Including Lebron. The man did a whole documentary on the last dance and crapped all over Jerry and the man is dead and gone never once acknowledging he would have nothing without Jerry and hasn’t been able to what Jerry did given 20 years. It is who he is. Trae is rarely publicly defensive. The only time I can really remember is the interview about not showing up to that game. He was defensive because the reporter kept probing. Trae has thick skin but a long memory. He will forgive but won’t forget.
  7. Worked for Micahel Jordan. That guy doesn’t let anything go ever. Not saying I agree but some people are who they are. It is all about how they use those slights to improve themselves or use it to their benefit. I just bought a pair of Trae Young shoes and on the inside of the shoe box lid, it has an inscription “Always remember when they doubted you”.
  8. It weird though that in some of those same games we won a lot more so…
  9. Nothing wrong with criticisms. It was the lack of belief in the dude after he has showed time and time again that he can play basketball really good. It’s crazy how Trae had to have all NBA numbers every game all season just to be considered “worthy” of fans patience. He is the least of our concerns.
  10. There was this one possession when the Clippers had the ball and Kawhi was being defended by Dre (quite well I may add) and Kawhi called for a screen with the man Tre was guarding. Trae recognizing Kawhi wanted Trae to defend him, switched with Murray’s man first so Murray ended up defending Kawhi. Brilliant. Kawhi ended up passing to someone else who missed the shot. This is the one area on defense I think Trae can excel. He is obviously an offensive savant, therefor he should be able recognize what other offenses are trying to do to him and he can anticipate and gum up their offensive sets.
  11. Is it time for the Knife to slice and dice. Huh? Huh? Where ya at Solo?!
  12. Agree. A good example of this is Steph Curry. He is consistently labeled a bad defender but his team consistently boasts a top 5 defense in their championship runs where he avg above 30 mins played.
  13. He defensive effort has increased, especially the 6 games or so. He is not dying on screens, he is using his quickness to frustrate opponents, his deflections are up and he is being vocal. By contrast, Deandre’s effort is lower, he is lazy on screens he uses his hands too much to hold onto players, which is why he gets so many fouls called on him, he is not vocal and he has never been a steals, blocks, defensive rebound guy. The only place he excels is one on one defense when there is no screen.
  14. I can’t think of one. If fact I don’t know that anybody has really done that. Boston when they traded for the dude from San Antonio. They ended up in the Finals.
  15. Sorry to hear that. Glad he does not have to suffer anymore. Sounds like a great dude.
  16. This is so spot on. Particularly the comment about coaching veteran players. Another reason why that ECF squad was effective. Gallo, Lou, the Knife, Snell, Clint, Bogi and even Rondo early on were guys he could count on to figure it out and rally the other guys. He does not have that luxury now. He has to do it. Trae, John, and DeJounte are learning how to do it but are running into rough patches.
  17. I think that is a very real perspective for him. If he has to go out, go out swinging. Don’t just stand with arms folded hoping the guys get it together. If he wants to seal his hall of fame bid, he has to turn this thing around fast and get us back into contention.
  18. I think it is only real achilles heel. Looking back at the ECF, he was forced to make adjustments on the fly and never had time to set his regular rotations. That worked to our benefit. He needs to let go of his ego and trust himself to make adjustments in real time.
