  1. I think this offseason TS has to be aggressive and determine exactly what it will take to put together a true contender. Once he identifies that, he has to shake the trees to get what he wants. I think he has 3 ways to get there. 1. Offer top dollar to free agents. 2. Consider SNT for up and coming stars 3. Consolidation trade of our younger valuable pieces for a megastar player who is already under contract. We have the ability to do all three. TS is excellent at identifying talent and fit but he has been “allowing” the market to work and get best value. He will need to “dictate” the market this year. In follow on responses I will state what I think needs to happen in each of the three categories above. What do you think we need to do in each of the categories above to create a contender?
  2. Putting this into perspective, we all knew this playoff run would be an uphill battle. With John trying to get back into the flow of the game and missing Clint it makes it even tougher. When Trae twisted his ankle his play was really affected by that. Now with respect to Nate, this is where he had to get creative and try and manufacture some momentum. A good example of how Spo switched up what he was doing to gain momentum was he started to full court press. We made no adjustments. Furthermore, we never tried to press off of our made baskets even when their starting point guard was out injured. Still have to trust Nate going forward but he has to be challenged to get better too. I think Lou’s back is ok but Nate decided to go with Delon for major rotation, while this makes sense, it puts you in a jam when you have injuries or matchups you can exploit with Lou. I don’t think his assistants added anything to this team this year.
  3. That’s bs the bill is going to come due on Lowery.
  4. I think they should pair him and John off the bench with John Collins. Have John pick and roll and and Gorgi pick and pop.
  5. Our knick knack injuries are starting to catch up with us. Lowrey’s slick roll into Trae’s leg was on purpose. So was Mobley’s lung into Clint’s leg. If we manage to scrap our way into a few victories, my respect for this team will climb to a new level.
  6. I saw the same thing. I thought it was just a small break or something. It was really weird watching Arod talk about his Minnesota Timberwolves and how he use to hoop with Cal Ripken at his house.
  7. He should be 1st team all nba. End of story. They just keep adding fuel to this guys fire. Smdh.
  8. One more thing I will say about Dre’s play lately is that he is playing with more urgency and aggressiveness. Cutting to the basket, offensive rebounds, fighting through screens. This was my main issue with him in the regular season. It may have been due to recovering from injury but i is good to see none the less.
  9. Definitely, this is Dre’s opportunity to show why Schlenk picked him to compliment Tre. His maturity, defense, offensive versatility and championship pedigree albeit collegiate.
  10. What I mean by this is that the playoffs (and yes the play-in is a type of playoff game) is that the game slows down to a half court type game where Dre is good at taking his time offensively. He plays solid half court defense and the refs don’t blow the whistle as much on soft contact. He is a smart player and is usually in the right place at the right time. He makes very few mental mistakes. Lastly, he can slow the other team’s best offensive player down quite a bit. First two victims were Julius Randle and Mile Bridges.
  11. Dre’s game is built for the playoffs.
  12. This is so true. He has to say something in the post game conference. The refs don’t realize their bias. The one advantage he might have is during the playoffs where they will call fewer fouls overall and allow him to play defense.
  13. Nate went off in the game too on the ref right before dre got a tech.
  14. Man I am so glad Dre got a tech! They are fouling the ish out of him and no call. Then they are calling touch fouls on him. Callem out Dre! Follow it up in the press conference!
  15. Nope. It was the refs. Ghost touch fouls had us in the bonus early in both the first two quarters. On the other end Hunter gets his arm smack right in front of the refs while shooting a lay up. No call. Siakim spins and travels right in front of the refs no call. I know when the game was tied 103 to 103 the refs would continue the trend. And they did.
  16. Guys played great tonight. The referring was really bad. Like gambling type bad. I watch a lot of basketball and I knew after ten minutes how this game was going to go. It is time fir Hunter to get fined for calling out referees, he needs to get his respect.
  17. The refs have completely thrown this game. Has anyone else noticed how referees pick on Deandre Hunter? The call him for the most ticky tack fouls I have ever seen. It is like they don’t want anyone to play defense.
