  1. At least he's wearing a tie. Kidd looks like he's managing an Olive Garden. We're definitely in a slump. I don't expect it to last but we need some help. Still not seeing why Cartier and Dennis aren't seeing the floor.
  2. Well Jeff is average 17/8 with nearly 3 rebounds a game. I'm not sure what the expectation is here but it seems like people won't be happy unless he becomes Chris Paul. Korver can't get open easily anymore so what are the options here. Dump it to Milsap and have him drive the lane. Outside of those two he's trying to drive an offense with DMC and Antić in the starting lineup. http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/hawks-teague-keeps-same-approach-during-breakout-season?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo
  3. I don't think he's the ideal fit for Bud. He doesn't really like moving without the ball. He likes to have the ball in his hands. I like Lou a lot but they had him slotted for the Ginobilli role but so far i'm not seeing it. Maybe when he's a little more confident in his knee.
  4. I think Deron is out. He was questionable the last i saw.
  5. Except they play the same position right ?
  6. We actually have the personnel to live by the 3 pretty well though. It probably won't take us far in the playoffs of course. Still not sure why Cartier can't get off the bench. He's shooting 40% from 3. If we could improve our D a bit and cut down on turnovers we are still a pretty good team. We'll see if they can recover from that GS loss. Compared to the last 7 years its nice to see us not getting blown out in big games.
  7. I'm going to kick this back up because really what is there to lose. I'm a guy who never wanted Kaman because he's pretty lousy defensively. But Bud seems to prefer centers who have some kind of offensive game. Kaman just isn't a D'antoni type center. JayBird proposed this before Horford went down and i was on the fence. But at this point why not if we are only giving up guys like Ayón who don't play anyway. In this eastern conference Kaman could help us for the rest of the season. The downside is almost nothing.
  8. We really dodged a bullet not drafting that guy. Think how we'd feel now that he's out for 3 weeks.
  9. Honestly he needs to be playing center somewhere. Like for the Lakers.
  10. Its not that i think we are better, we are. We were better the year after Joe was gone than we were his last year here. With Joe/Smoove/(rusty)horford we couldn't get by the Celtics in the first round. The celtics were creaky and we had every opportunity to win that series but we just weren't that good. The next year without Joe we play the Pacers, a much better team than the Celts, and play a much better series. You could argue we weren't better but we certainly were not worse. We are better this year than we were last year. With Smoove gone and almost no long term contracts we are a much better team than the previous year. And if Horford was healthy i'd put this team against any of the 'core' hawks teams. So I'm just not seeing the similarities to BK. So Ferry is doing the same thing EXCEPT not getting rid of everyone at once and not tanking and not losing and making smart moves to move up without first sinking to new depths. How is that the same thing?
  11. Orlando would trip on themselves signing that deal. I don't think we'd have to give up near that much. They don't need him. They are trying to lose. He isn't in their long term plans. I was really high on getting him when Horford was healthy but now i don't know. I'd still love to get him but not for all that.
  12. Was Hedo ever a PF? I always thought of him as Kukoc like. A huge SF who thinks he's a PG.
  13. Yeah what's not to like. 38% from 3 and 3.5 assists a game in limited time. If Dennis was doing this everyone would screaming for him to start.
  14. I think Pero could be a good center for us but he'll need a lot of on the job training.
  15. hmmm. i guess with Demarre having some injuries but still i'm not sure what he gives us exactly. I guess it can't hurt. Wonder if that means we'd let Cartier go. I like Cartier.
  16. Well the difference is pretty obvious. BK got rid of everything and we became a 13 win doormat of the league. DF is getting rid of things and we keep getting better.
  17. How is swapping automatically smarter than the right to swap picks? That doesn't make any sense. It isn't pure luck. It is a great thing if the nets are out of the playoffs for sure but even if they aren't how important can it be to have the right to move up even two picks? The right to swap first round picks totally unprotected was a great friggin deal to get in return for someone taking away one of the worst contracts in basketball. Its the definition of a win-win...for the hawks and a lose-lose for the nets. I'm not believing for a second that Ferry 'lucked' into part of the deal. I'm guessing that was our biggest demand.
  18. This isn't rumored but just looking around the league there are some good teams who need to make moves. Memphis is one. They have some great bigs coupled with some washed up wings. Their depth chart at the wing is Tony Allen/Tayshun Prince/Mike Miller/James Johnson. I mean that's pretty weak if you are considering yourself a contender. So would they part with Kosta Koufos? He's big. He Rebounds. He's been starting with Gasol out. I can't say i've seen him play much. He'd be a great center to have even when Horford comes back, and he isn't making much. Would they be interested in Lou and Cartier/Jenkins/ or Mack?
  19. Wow. I agree with everything except that Fortune has smiled on us. Guess i'm a glass is half empty guy. Ferry made a great move in the right to swap picks. That wasn't luck. That was damn nice work. The rest i'd say fortune is looking to kick us in the ass: 1. We're clearly the 3rd best team in the East which means we are seriously competing for the ECF. That would be huge for this franchise, but then we lose our best player and really only good big to season ending injury. 2. The Nets are a ridiculous mess of players past their prime, injury-riddled, and clown led. They are 10-21 .323 30 games into the season and they are 3 FRIGGIN GAMES OUT OF THE 8TH PLAYOFF SPOT. Come on now. Give us something here.
  20. Last I heard it was Blank's to turn down. He was still deciding if it would work. MLS teams are apparently pretty expensive now. The stupid new stadium is going to be artificial turf though. Damn can we do anything right in this town. Why have a retractable roof for a artificial turf field? In the damn south for goodness sake. Anyway, i'm suprised MLS would go for this. I know they prefer smaller stadiums and soccer on turf suuuucks. Falcons should have gone to Doraville, built a grass turf field to have Falcons and MLS. Braves should have stayed at the Ted and added a rail line over. Possibly street cars. All this would have been cheaper and better than the Snafu of the last year in Atlanta stadiums.
  21. So can you just walk around town smoking weed now? What about in bars?
  22. The NBA has yet to take getting things right seriously. There are still a bunch of unwritten rules about not fouling out stars, not making calls at end of games etc. and it all comes down from the top. These refs aren't making these decisions on their own. They feel the pressure to not cross the leagues vision of good entertainment. Its stupid.
  23. Go Hawks! Glad this is in boston because 1pm philips arena on new years eve would be...quiet.
