Check out the China man. Go to ESPN and there is a clip of him. Doesn't move like a seven footer. Looks like he could go very high. Maybe number three?

Ummm I don't think the term "China man" flies by anymore.

But yeah Yi Jianlian could def be a top 5 pick.

He's got one of the quickest drives off the dribble you'll ever see for a legit 7 footer. And he finishes above the rim like a 3.

I think taking Thaddeus Young with the 2nd pick would hurt more than not getting the pick.

But other than something that incredibly stupid like a SF, I'll be absolutely thrilled

Press: what do you have to say about this year? Your team finished 35-47.

BK: Well, I think you can definitely see improvement. We were not at this point last season. I think Woody has done a commendable job of training our young team.

press: Do you regret not taking Rookie sensation Durant?

BK: The fans don't understand what we are building here in Atlanta. All they talk about is what we didn't do and they fail to see what we have done.

Press: What have you done?

BK: We have a solid foundation of young players upon which to build and are constantly looking at ways to improve. We will add more quality players and make moves that will positively impact our club without sacrificing our future growth. In our last 34 games, we have gone 20-14, including 6-4 in our last 10 games. Our improved play has been a team effort, spearheaded by our veterans Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, and Zaza Pachulia.

Press: How do you see the team developing? Are there any trades fourthcoming to fix the hole at PG?

BK: The development of our team is ongoing and we have been involved in many discussions throughout this season about possible trades because we have players many teams find desirable and salary cap space. However, none of the proposed offers made good short-term or long-term sense for us in our desire to continue building a very competitive, athletic, championship-caliber team that all of our fans will be proud to support for years to come.

Suddenly Bernie Mullin comes in the room.

Press to Mullin: What are the states of Woodsen and Knight's contracts?

Mullin: Billy Knight has a great track record for building winning teams in the NBA, We challenged him to form a team that will play an up-tempo, exciting and competitive style of basketball and in less than 4 years, Billy has done this. He has significantly upgraded our roster by adding young, athletic players and key veterans who know how to win. Billy's plan for improving this club now and for the long term is taking shape and we're thrilled to have him as part of our family for many years to come."

Press to Mullin: Are you saying that Knight is being extended?

Mullin: Yes.

Press to Mullin: What about Woody?

Mullin: Hawks' ownership group has not yet met in a "formal sit-down," but the message from the owners was that Woodson deserves another chance after imoproving this season. Clearly they feel that a change in Mike Woodson's status at this point in time would be completely unfair,"

Press to BK: How do you feel about the slow start of Thaddeus Young?

BK: Thad is a very special player. When you watch him, there are flashes of brilliance. He's very athletic and he's long and it won't take him 4 years before he's making a difference on the court.

Press: But don't you think your fourth time passing over the rookie of the year when you were in a position to pick him is a problem?

BK: We're in the team building business. We have great team players.

Press: But what about Durant? He has been a consistent double double guy.

BK: We're still a young team, when Thad and Marvin and Shelden and Childress and JJ hit the courts, other teams already give these guys all the respect in the world.

lol that sounds exactly like what BK would say, I'm so sick of his short-armed responses and insistence on answering the question differently than asked.

Your BK impressions of when he's in trade talks with other GMs are the best though, those are hilarious..

Take Durant at #2, trade Marvin for #6 or 7 and take Hibbert, then take Conley/Law/Crit at 11.

Here's our team:

AJ/Law

JJ/Salim

Durant/Chillz

Smoove/Shelden

Hibbert/Zaza/Solo

That is an AWESOME young team

Would be a pretty nasty team.

But I don't think you could trade Marvin for a pick that high these days.

Press: Can you give an explanation as to why this team finished out of the playoffs for the 9th straight season?

BK: Well, when we came aboard, we had a bunch of older veterans make a lot of money and not winning. I think we changed a lot of that and we now have an exciting group of younger guys who are getting better.

Mullin: In BK's defense, his drafting has been excellent. Gone are the days when this team was drafting Dion Glover and Ed Gray.

Press: But those were lower first round picks. None of the guys Knight has selected with a lottery pick has had nearly the impact as those he passed over.

BK: Next question.

Press: What is the status of Josh Childress? He missed the final 33 games with another foot injury.

BK: Josh is a young guy who's had a raw deal. He's was on the cusp of being one of our main guys but just had a hard time staying healthy since being here.

Press: It was recently stated on TNT by Joe Johnson that he was not happy about the progress of the team and that he would demand a trade to a contender if things didn't improve soon. Your response?

BK: Uhh, we don't address rumors and such with the media. Next question.

Press: Any news on Josh Smith's contract status?

BK: Uhh, we're working on securing his services. He'll be a Hawk for a long time.

Press: We just saw him partying with Dwayne Wade in Miami. Any truth to that?

BK: Uhh, again we do not address rumors and such with the media. Again, we are working hard to keep him here and don't feel threatened at all over losing him to another team. Our team is one of the most highly thought of franchises in the league and it wouldn't make sense for anyone to see otherwise. If there isn't anything else, that's it.
