Joe Johnson interview

Shelden will be a good player...maybe like 10 and 10

But AL Horford is like Karl Malone! Book It. He's a winner, he understands the game...and he's very athletic as well. Much more so then Shelden.

I like Shelden and AL on the floor together...

They are anything but mirrors of one another

Now, Shelden may be traded...Shelden and just about every other player on the Hawks roster is VALUABLE...u can get something for him...wether it be to pick up a draft pick or fill out the roster.

The Hawks have more bargaining chips then just about any other team in the league...Therefore you always have options to help finalize your roster.

Horford has the exact same skillset as Shelden.

Except for being bigger and 1000x better on offense.

His measurements are different but how fast he runs will not help him in the post. Athleticism might help, but not as much as strength.

He'll beat centers down the court, he jumps higher, has 3 inches of reach and is over an inch taller. How do you know Shelden is stronger than Horford? Because he did 6 more reps in bench press? Bench press isn't even that important, Horford could easily be stronger at other things.

With Yi, we would have had a player who can create for himself off the dribble.

Even though there is no video proof of him doing it in about 6 CBA playoff games?

We should have easily choosen Yi.

On the basis of the fact that we were the worst offensive team in the NBA and Horford is NOT an offensive player... we should have choosen Yi.

Yes, we should have choosen Yi, he is the truth. He's 7 feet tall and way more athletic than Horford. Horford has no offense, he's just rebounds. We fell into the hype machine. Take Yi. Then we wood have tradded Marvin for Dally and hello playoffs. Now we have to trade Marvin for Yi and we still wont have a C.

No one on this team has as much talent as Yi, and is as complete of player besides Joe. The only guy I could think of in recent times that had Yis skill set and the height he has is probably shareef. Laettner was a good shooter for being a tall guy, but didnt have the overall game like Yi, such as ball handling and athleticism.

If Joe is happy then that is definately a good thing. We dont want him to go kobe on us.

he should be happy he's cashing those checks right now considering he's payed what he is for being a jump shooter.

we needed a driving PG that could draw defenders in the paint to free up our jumpshooters, all 12 of them.

this 5 people standing around waiting to shoot a jumpshot crap has to go. period.

He called him one because that is what he is...Its only the Homer Hawks fans who called Shelden and now Horford centers.

I guess Bernie Mullin and Mike Woodson are homers, then.

Horford's vertical hops are very good for a player his size. That kind of skill can make him a good help defender, but his short standing reach, when he will be glued to the floor trying to take and offensive foul, will make it easy for offensive players to shoot over him (ala Shelden). Hopefully he can use his strength to keep the big guys out.
