jezmund
Do you guys think he could bring us closer to being a contender than Shareef? Just a random question for conversation. SAR to DAL for Finley We'd have a big void in the frontcourt but we could shop Grob for someone I guess. I was just thinking that a trio of JT, Finley, and Diaw would be great in the open court. You have quickness and outside-shooting from JT, all-around scoring and tenacious aggression from Finley, and complimentary player with good defense abilities in Diaw. I'm not sure if we could sign a player of Finley's quality when we have cap space in a few years so I was thinking we'd have to trade to get anyone. I'd rather move Grob/Nazr for him but we know Dallas wouldn't take that. Finley is a player I really covet for our team. I'm not saying I want to trade Shareef or if this is a fair trade, just a thought. Dallas could run..... Nash/NVE/Dirk/SAR/Lafrentz.
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 15, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 15, 2003 Not really. I think there are better deals than this. Finley is a good player but by himself he is not so good. However, if you want to trade SAR for a Player... WHy not go with Vince Carter or Allen Iverson. There are reasons why both might be successful trades. Forinstance... SAR/Nazr for Carter/Hunter/Williams. We would have: JT/Carter/Boris/Williams/Theo... when we wanted to run. dimes4life
Finley can be compared to A. Houston, R. Hamilton, J. Stackhouse, or even Eddie Jones somewhat(both are sponsored by MJ) but Eddie Jones would probably be a better pick if you are looking for an 2 guard. Guest
Why trade for Eddie Jones and his 5 year long term contract? How does that improve us?All it does is leave us with scrub Dickau and no backup. iIt means we drafted scrub Boris for nothing...And we are capped out 5 more years.I'd rather let JT walk for nothing. Trading for an old Eddie Jones that isn't even that good of a player anymore is a stupid idea. These players that people hear are trying so badly to get are not worth getting:: Reggie Miller-How old is he?Not too mention his limited game. He's always been an overrated player. Eddie Jones-Look at the contract Steve Smith-This guy is so slow it would take him two hours to watch 60 minutes. Finley is a good option if we can keep Shareef in the process. dimes4life
Eddie does play defense something the Hawks don't do, and Michael Finley is NOT a good defender. I am just giving options and opinons.

" Eddie's not a very good defender anymore. The guy can't even stay on the court.Hard to play defense when you are sitting on the bench. We are a team that is going to have to rebuild. That takes away any importance out of getting guys with no future. The stupidity amazes me.We are already capped out and the last thing you do is bring in a 5 year big contract for a decline player. That's a Pete Babcock move. Blunt91
What Williams are you talking about that plays Power forward for the Raptors Diesel? You must of meant Antonio Davis? I would do this deal just to get Carter even though he is injury plagued at least he will get the people to come to Phillips Arena. We could get a couple of seasons out of Davis until we are able to find a young power Forward who is legitamate scorer.

jjjohns3
That's not the worst trade I've ever seen Diesel. It would be hard for ATL,not DAL. Actually this is better than most of your trades. ~Peace
Blunt91
Oh I forgot about JYD but I consider him a small forward, even though he is a good rebounder he is not the answer to play down low. We might as well start Hendu at PF if we made that trade. I don't know if I would do it now.
TheDude
i woudl keep reef cuz getting a good power forward is more difficult than getting a good guard..
