exodus
Marvin didnt play in the 4th until there were 19 seconds left and the game was over. Bibby played at the end of the game for the first time since the Dallas loss. Sure enough the 4th quarter was the Hawks worst quarter. Bibby can't play D so if he isn't hot from deep he shouldn't be in the game at the end. Smith played like an idiot. He had as many turnovers as rebounds. MVP23
Funny how you admit that Smoove didn't play well...but the thread is about Marvin...
Premium Member niremetal Posted March 7, 2010 Premium Member Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 Smith played like an idiot. He had as many turnovers as rebounds. Come on, now. Everyone was pretty sloppy last night, and I attribute the lack of rebounds to the fact that Josh switched onto the perimeter more than I can ever remember last night. This was a team loss. As for Bibby/Marvin...yeah.
Devon
Marvin was on the bench in sweats with a towel over his head.

If you would have just left out the "Smith played like an idiot" part I would agree with you mostly ...but of course you couldn't...can't leave well enough alone can you ex? Smoove played like a guy you would expect to play coming off a 40 minute + game the night before (MVP-type) with travel. Josh Smith has saved our @sses so may times it's getting to be expected. I agree with your first paragraph....not so much on Bibby...but certainly on Marvin sitting wtf Woody?
Dexmethylphenidate
-Yeah, I think Josh Smith was out of gas in the 4th quarter. - Marvin played terrific for 3 games and was active in the game and was missing in action in the 4th... good call Woody. exodus
i fail to see how Smith being tired would lead to so many dumb passes. Then again if we had a real pg our pf wouldn't have to be a playmaker. Bibby played the entire 4th without a point, assist or rebound. Nice job. jerrywest
Josh could barely walk to the bus after the game Friday night. 4th game in 5 nights. Playing 45 minutes the night before. 3 MVP like game. I can forgive his bad 4th quarter. Someone got to make him understand that his jump shots that are not from 0 or 180 degree angles are basically turnovers. Worse. Intentional turnovers. If those turnovers at the end of the game happened without Bibby in the court, people would be mad for having no Bibby at the end of the game. (not arguing for Bibby) Woody doesn't like to adjust. MaceCase
We win games through defense and crashing the boards limiting the other teams chances and increasing ours because our 4th quarter offense has been beyond solved. I thought Woody had figured this out over our last couple games but apparently he isn't too sure of the obvious trend or he likes to play around with it to prove that Woody sense is greater than common sense. Gray Mule
We have a defensive specialist. Where was he when D. Wade was scoring all those points? Wouldn't he have been better than Bibby in the 4th? After all, Mario wasn't tired or anything. Where was Jeff? When Bibby couldn't score or play defense, where was he? On the bench. After a very good, productive first half, where was Joe Smith in the 4th quarter? He certainly wasn't too tired to play. What if Mario couldn't stop D. Wade? So what. No one else was doing it. What if Mario couldn't score? And, who was scoring for Atlanta? Crawford and who?? So many games in so short a time period. The second game of a BTB. Tired players. Can't be denied. These guys were bone weary. We had at least 3 or 4 fresh bodies on the bench. They might have come in and lost the game and we could cry about that. Didn't happen. They didn't get a chance to contribute. Marvin hs played well in crunch time. Bench him. Mario plays great defense. Don't let him on the floor. Jeff is rested - - and fast. Keep him out. Joe Smith had a great first half. Don't let him back in. It all makes a lot of sense, doesn't it!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:
ViperXX79
I think Marvin was hurt. He came up limping after he took that foul that they had to check to see if it was a three point shot or not. He played a few more minutes and then I saw him go to the locker room with the trainer when he came out.
