Look at the numbers. It clearly shows that whenever he gets shots he produces. Bad pick or not you can't argue with the numbers. These are simply the facts. More involvement in the offense=better Marvin.

Wow, you just spotted a relationship between Field Goals Attempted and Points Scored. Amazing.

There may be another point in the post if you look past sarcasm. MW could be a producer. The Hawks need work at the ownershio, coaching and team play. We have players and possibilities but wr're only getting by on talent. But the potential isn't being reached; see MW.

"MW could be a producer"...Oh, how the MW apologists have fallen. From KB's 25/12 to >5 time all-star to Dolfan's to a "producer". Ugh.

Let's be clear here. MW is to blame for his poor development to this point. He was GIVEN the starting Sf job and has had if for 4 years. He spends his off-seasons only (at best) half invested in his chosen profession. If the fate of coaches depended upon MW "reaching his potential" every GD NBA head coach would have be fired or quit by now.

I'm not trying to hate on Marvin, but the truth is "game recognizes game". Every reason and excuse under the sun has been given as to why he's not what so many hoped (and still hope?) he would be. His game doesn't warrant giving him more shots because he's not that kind of player. I'm sure there are many (some in the Hawks org.) who want Marvin to get more shots as a way to make him seem more relevant and to thus, save face. However, if you're totally objective and honest about it, the truth is the truth. Not hating on the guy. It just is what it is. On the contrary, when you're not totally objective about what you're observng on the floor, you can end up making decisions that hinder your franchise for years.

Good talent, marginal player, poor fit. That should be Marvin's player report with the Hawks.

I think the Hawks should hire somebody to punch Marvin in the gut right before the opening tip-off of every game, because when he is motivated, fired-up, pissed off or has a chip on his shoulder for whatever reason, he can really be a pretty good player, and the difference is like night and day between that iteration of Marvin and the passive and non-assertive Marvin we usually see.
