Chris Paul will never sign long term ..The Hawks crowd is pathetic just as bad as New Orleans crowd ;..No longer is ATL a prime spot to come and play and be marketed ..Its a shame that we didnt draft him when he was coming out and we went with the bum that is Marvin Williams ..it will go down that day as why the Atlanta Hawks will never be a champion it will all co0me back to the 2005 draft

I have an update guys.

New Orleans is down to three teams. Atlanta, Boston, and LAL.

Boston is offering Granger, Collison, and two 1st 2011. (LAC, BOS)

LAL is only offering Gasol but NO is split on both.

Atlanta is offering Josh Smith but New Orleans has Jeff Teague as their #1 want of all players.

1a. NO is split on Gasol and Bynum. Some think Bynum can be an all star, some think he is overrated and can't stay healthy. They all seems to think Gasol will help the young players but at his price and age, they are skeptical.

1b. NO likes Josh Smith. They all seem to realize Smith is likely to put up the best numbers but they don't know if he's a franchise face. They still like him as much as Gasol which is why Atlanta 1b. They love Jeff Teague, out of all the players, Teague was rated 3rd as a piece behind Gordon and Curry. The thing is Atlanta hasn't and won't offer him. They don't want to be stuck with no CP3 and without Teague. They feel Horford, Joe, Marvin, and CP3 with no starting C might be too much to overcome and he will leave for NY. NO wants Teague badly, they even suggested a SnT for David West and that has Atlanta interested with the idea of CP3, JJ, Marvin, West, and Al. We will see how this goes.

3. Boston- NO doesn't want Rondo period. They just don't rate him high. Boston has a deal on the table where they will SnT Jeff Green and Rondo to Indy for Granger and Collison and flip them for Paul. NO has receptive but not sold on the deal. It seems like Boston is losing traction for CP3.

In other words, New Orleans wants Teague. That's who they want. Atlanta doesn't want to trade him at all given that Paul is no lock even if he said he would consider staying long term.

Jamal and Atlanta are not done. Jamal might wait till the end of next week to sign a deal from anyone. So many teams need a SG but only so few available who have an impact and Jamal is one. We is looking to get paid.

Sund is the most active I've seen him in years. The most since we signed Marvin, Josh, and Bibby. I think he knows we are at a crossroad. Indy is spending and already are deep. Milwaukee has a healthy Bogut and just added Capt. Jack. New Jersey is trying to ink Tyson Chandler. Plus improvements from NYK should make it more difficult for Atlanta this year.

How exactly are all these sign and trades supposed to work? Jeff Green and Rondo for Granger and Collison. Josh Smith, Jeff Teague, filler for Chris Paul and David West? You can't trade another player along with a player that's signed and traded. You might be right on this (and I hope you are), but call me a little uncertain about the legitimacy because of that.

I always laugh when people claim they have inside info on messageboard... Reluctant to trade teague?? Why? He has not done anything.. West is also not needed, AL will still be stuck at the C position he hates playing so much.

The only reluctance to trading Teague is because there is no guarantee that Paul will resign with us long term (same reason that GSW and LAC aren't including Curry and Gordon, respectively). If we were closer to contending right this minute and Paul would be the one to put us over the hump then I would say sure take a chance, but we aren't close.

^ you never know, derek fisher won a few rings as a starter and john stockon won none. :)

question, since when we(the management) value teague so much? i know i watched the bulls series but, please we are talking about chris paul here! even if it's just for a year rental

and if we can't win with paul and skip town next year, 1)at least we tried and 2)if that team can't get us anywhere, we might as well rebuild.

REBUILD - Not a word I like hearing in my neck of the woods. I remember those 13 win seasons....yuck. It has taken the Hawks sooo long to start having winning records and going to the playoffs I don't want to go back to those kinda sucky years.

When I do pay for tickets to games I want to at least feel we have a shot at winning the game....That's just me.

Someone just reported: golden state, and boston are in the lead to land paul.

Hawks wont get Paul, don't get your hopes up.

Geez, yall need to stop being negative. For years, all of us has been complain that the Hawks doesnt do enough to complete but now we are active, this happens. Atleast they trying, so get off their backs

First of all, NO doesnt want Rondo period and G/S will not give away Curry (CP3 wont resigned with G/S). So that lead me with this question to nbasuperstar40 (but anybody else who has info, can answer too)

Did anybody say that CPIII camp say if Chris Paul was traded here, would he be able to resigned with us? That is hold-up with giving them Teague, If Paul says yes, then trade goes down.

Thinking off the top of my head, but I would not give up Teague and Smoove if I didnt have a long term contract in place for CP3. If we make a trade (and I really dont think we will) it has to be for the long haul. There is no doubt that CP is at the top of the heap and would greatly improve this team but I think we need a low post player too. We have NO ONE on the roster that can play in the post and when it comes the end of a close game or the playoffs if you are not putting pressure on the opposing teams inside big men, then you dont have a great probability of winning a close tough playoff series. CP would give us that "Rose" type player that can get to the rim and draw fouls which is something we dont have now. Teague played well against Chicago, and will be a good player, but he is no CP.

From what I got in the past was CP3 said he would consider resigning if Atlanta proved to be contenders but wouldn't sign an ext. CP3 is only signing an ext to NY. He doesn't want to play in Boston or Golden St past this year. GS owner has to realize that. His brass is trying to tell him that but he's a new owner and doesn't realize that NBA players have different ideals and lifestyle from their's until it's money lost.

Atlanta for good reasons just isn't going to buy this roster

CP3/Teague/???

JJ/Hinrich/Sy

Marvin/T-Mac

Horford/Rolle

Collins/Zaza/Benson

This might seem very good and could work excellently but no one is winning a title starting Collins or Zaza. Collins can't move and Zaza can't defend most centers and he has backup talent, not starters especially for a playoff team. CP3 will take the first plane to JFK after the season.

No, the trade doesn't go down because he isn't tied to it. You can't trade him just because he said he will consider ext. That's dumb, that's why GS brass had to talk sense into the owner who thinks a chance who mean he stays. No, CP3 wants to dominate or at least be up with LAL, MIA, and OKC. i.e: You must have the talent in place to begin with.

This might be the only thing to make ASG take a major risk.

CP3/????/Sy

JJ/Jamal/???

Marvin/T-Mac

West/Rolle

Horford/Collins/Zaza

That would be three All NBA players with one All Star type and Marvin with T-Mac as role players. Jamal would be the offensive specialist off the bench. That would be hard no to win with. Horford can guard most centers in the NBA and is the 2nd best in the game. West is a solid player who excel with Paul. Marvin is a role player. Joe would be a #2 option and CP3 will be CP3. That would be a contender.

Depth

Fit

Talent

Superstar or Star

Numerous weapons

Young but experienced.

CP3 would be crazy to leave that for the Knicks. Just my personal opinion.

I don't know, I didn't bother to interrupt and ask.

mbasuperstar40, Thanks for answering the question.

Maybe that is the reason why the Hawks has been silence through the whole ordeal, but I though he like Atlanta but oh well, Atlanta package is good and if he doesnt come, oh well, life moves on.

Sund isn't someone who goes to the media for anything like Ainge does. In fact he ask the teams he deals with to be quiet and he sneaks up on you like the LA Angels. I really think NO really wants Curry the most. Not just from the media but from what I've heard in general but CP3 doesn't want to play in GS. GS(Bay Area) is a huge market but it's GS. It's not a place that has a lot to do for a Black wealthy young man with options. Sometimes people hate to bring up race but unless it's for prestige, people are going to go where they feel comfortable.

We will see. David West had a reality check. He assumed he was going to get offers for 10+. But PF's are commonplace and almost all teams have average or solid ones in place and the ones that don't aren't looking for West. He is likely get offers for 6-7 but wants 8-9 right now. I really believe he will be traded to a contender like SAS, Dallas, Miami, or even Atlanta who are not contenders.

I don't think it NO wants David West back either especially if they are rebuilding.
