What really bothers me about the Horford injury

You're right, it's a freak injury. Only two NBA players have had this injury... Horf and Kwame Brown. Odd right. Two undersized Bigs. The problem is rebounding and fighting for positions and banging at the same time. Maybe Horf needs to learn how to use his butt to create rebounding space. So that he wouldn't get hit so much while his arms are extended... or maybe he's just out of position. Either way, bad biomechanics + continual punishment by things like elbows = torn pectoral muscle. Get Horf a rebounders and put him high post and this is less likely to happen.

Did you even watch the cavs game where Horford got injured? Dude, what the f*ck are you talking about playing out of position? You are out of your element. As the kids say.."ur trippin sun"....

Kwame was undersized now? Oh boy. He came into the league straight out of high school as a 6'11.5" 243lbs skinny kid. His last listed weight was 6'11" 290lbs. Yea, definitely seeing the similarities with Horf and how this now proves that undersized players sustain pec injuries with regularity.

Kwame Brown? Stop reaching please. I guess you googled "other NBA players with pec injuries" and it only gave you Kwame so all of a sudden he is undersized. The only thing undersized on Kwame were his stone hands (for his size).

Not only did I watch the Cavs game. I watched more than just when he was injured. How many times does Horf get hit to the chest while rebounding? You think that doesn't have a effect? Did you see how he tore his first pec? Point is over time, injuries happen and a torn pec builds up silently until it happens.

You mean his small hands for his size. Moreover, is it size or style of play that makes a player undersized? Let me guess, you think it's all about weight... ok... Let's put Lebron James 255lbs at PF fulltime. Is he undersized? Lebron weighs more than Kevin Love 243. But Lebron will get killed playing the physical game for 82 games. This is the problem with Horf and Brown. Maybe undersized is not the right word but Brown is more of a Finesse 5. He doesn't have the hands to be a great rebounder and he missed college so he was never trained to be a bruiser. This is why he's a BUST. He's big for nothing. Horf knows how to be a bruiser but he's been a High post PF type player for most of his existence. We looked and said 6'10" 250lb... Oh, you are a Center.

Playing center had little to nothing to do with two pectoral injuries. It's more his body make up resulting to that particular injury. Otherwise guys like Noah, Sanders, Hawes, Gortat, Bismack, etc. would already had torn up muscles.

Do Explain Dr. Kimsey. What do you mean his Body Makeup. Are you saying it's Genetics?

Genetics/development. Everything from being genetically predisposed, to posture, to his training regimen would all have greater bearing given the unique circumstances of his injury rather than the position he played or actions he performed on the court.

Cmon... Give me a break. The only thing you said that is mildly close is the regimen in his training. This is an injury that effect guys who left weights (mostly).. because they are always exerted their energy up while trying to lift heavy weights. When Horf is playing against bigger stronger bigs and he's going for rebounds, he puts himself in those same positions.

Listen to the Doctor... He said that the Cartilage was pulled away from the rib cage. Look at how he went down and think about it...

You'd have some sort of point if Al was engaged in a bench press when he sustained the injury. As it still stands there would be a much larger incidence of guys sustaining even just pectoral strains or other forms of injuries to the pectorals if all it is is a matter of lifting heavier bodies given that both of Al's position and the manner in which he was injured was not a unique situation in the least.
