Budcox should consider giving Chandler Parsons the max

Chandler Parsons fits buds offense like no other. Dude is efficient as hell and though he's a role player he is easily a 16-18 point scorer on this team which we need now that Teague is gone except I believe parsons can do a lot better offensively than Teague under bud. I wouldn't be shocked if he could avg 18 like sap in this offense.

and before you cry he's not a star or that he's injury prone let me just say that ...we weren't getting a star player anyways, his injury from these past two seasons isn't all that serious from what I'm reading more like freak accidents and if you want the Hawks to get a star there's always next off season when the cap goes up again but to get a star we have to make one want to come here therefore we need to look appealing to big names like Westbrook and other star names next off season.

So knowing we aren't getting a star this off season it's time to turn our attention now to making our team deeper with very (not just good) but very good effective role players like parsons who has the ability to be a huge threat offensively.

Trust the doctors:

Sources say multiple renowned orthopedic specialists have given Parsons clearance to resume full basketball activities and expressed optimism that his knee would NOT prevent him from having a long, productive NBA career.

Parsons want 22mil? Fine...that's the way this new era is going. He's a korver with way better handles and driving ability.

I want him on the team.. he's a very good player. It's just a matter of him being healthy. Would prefer him to Deng if it came down to those two.

The max though? That's a little much and it sounds like most teams agree according to Supe's post.

I like Parsons, I like Batum as well. I do not see us being able to max out anyone this season; except our own player. Next year is when we will have the space. This season I think we only have about ten million. That may have changed some with moving Teague; but it is still not anywhere near max money.

With horfords cap hold we have 24 million. That is a max for some players.  That is excluding bazemore of course

Not in a million years would I trade Horford for Parsons straight up all things being equal. So cutting Al lose to sign Parsons is the exact same thing. Not in a million years.

We have $24 Million to spend with Horford's cap hold if we renounce everyone else.

I really did not know that. I thought we only had like 9.8 and that was before the Teague trade which may have freed up another 5 million or so. That is interesting!

At a $94 million salary cap, this means Atlanta will be at around $24 million in cap space. The projected maximum salary classifications for players with 0-6 years, 7-9 years, and 10+ years of experience would be about $23 million, $27 million, and $31 million per Albert Nahmad of HeatHoops (seriously a wonderful resource for Salary Cap insight)

If the system would let me I'd give you a like for this one. We do have a lot more options in free agency this year than I thought. Batum is my favourite but everything I have read says he wants to stay with Charlotte and they are willing to pay him. Parsons injury history concerns me a lot. Injury contracts are poison pills that can't be given away. If I signed Deng, it would not be a max. Not even close.

Should be fun to see how things move around!

Deng, Parsons, Batum? Is this 2014? I feel like I'm an episode of 12 monkeys seeing some of these names. I thought Parsons was in a long term deal.

You didn't read that right. We can spend 24 million and still resign horford to a max
