Moderators macdaddy Posted November 1, 2016 Moderators Report Share Posted November 1, 2016 Quote The six Celtics who have taken the most shots have all shot better than 50 percent and they have an effective field goal percentage of 54.9 percent (best in the league) from outside the paint. This is the best part if you hate the Cs. They are only 2-1 because they are shooting friggin lights out. They aren't that good of shooters so that will end at some point and they are going to have to find a way to rebound the ball.

Alice, by his mere presence, has made everybody Ray Allen. Like turning toilet water into wine. This is clearly a trend that will continue for the next 82 games, check that, 98 games since they're gonna sweep thru the playoffs.

On a somewhat related note, I'm not gonna be surprised if the Seeees end up desperation-trading for Faried. #FinalPieceBaybee

Yeah, I was absolutely stunned that Bradley hit eight threes the other night. Not so surprised he had more rebounds than you know who but was surprised he had seven more rebounds than him. Jeez. Anyway Avery is known for serious defense but not serious three point percentage even though he did improve some last year so like you said reality will settle in sooner or later. 27 minutes ago, kg01 said: Lies. It must be all those double teams he's been drawing due to his dominant post game.

Guest
Atlanta moved up four spots to No. 9 in Marc Stein’s ESPN.com rankings. It's way too early to get carried away. The Hawks' early schedule is also on the soft side, so we're doubling down here on the usual warnings this time of year to be judicious when tempted to draw conclusions about the NBA when it's only Halloween. But the Hawks have undoubtedly enjoyed a feel-good start in their quest to convince the skeptics that they're still top-four material in the East, thanks to Dwight Howard's dreamy debut and a favorable contract extensionwith Dennis Schröder. NBA.com’s John Schuhmann moves the Hawks up two places to No. 6. No. 1 defense after Christmas last season. No. 1 defense in the preseason. No. 1 defense after Week 1 (with some help from the Sixers). Bud is the new Thibs and Kyle Korver seems to have put last season's struggles behind him. Counting the preseason, he's 15-for-29 (52 percent) from 3-point range. Dwight Howard has been pretty quiet offensively, unless you count his work on the glass. He ranks second in rebounding percentage and as Al Horford's Celtics have struggled on the boards, the Hawks have been much improved. The Hawks are also climbing in Matt Moore’s rankings at CBS Sports jumping up four spots on No. 11. The Hawks' defense has been ridiculous to start. It takes about five minutes of watching Atlanta to remember "Oh, that's right, Mike Budenholzer is a super-genius." Atlanta takes a big jump in Kurt Helin’s rankings at Pro Basketball Talk moving up six spots to No. 5. Through two games, Atlanta has outscored its opponents by 26 points per 100 possessions, thanks to a defense that was best in the NBA in the preseason and has carried over to the regular season. Granted, one of their two games was against the Sixers. Dwight Howard has defended and rebounded well, but isn’t impacting the offense much yet — will that start to be an issue? Soft schedule this week could pad that record. Finally, NBA.com’s David Aldrige elevates the Hawks nine spots to No. 6 after their undefeated start. Tim Hardaway, Jr., out of the gate fast after an injury-plagued first season with the Hawks, who continue to be among the best in the league at player development/improvement. Guest
NBA.com 8 Last week: 6 Atlanta Hawks Record: 4-2Pace: 102.6 (8) OffRtg: 104.9 (10) DefRtg: 94.0 (2) NetRtg:+10.9 (1) The Hawks started the season with three double-digit wins, lost to the 1-3 Lakers (unable to get stops) and 0-3 Wizards (unable to make shots), and then beat the Rockets behind Dwight Howard's fifth double-double. Their offense has been rather anemic (96 points scored per 100 possessions) with both Howard and Paul Millsap on the floor, but potent (112) with one of them on the bench. Mike Muscala shooting 71 percent (he and Howard rank first and second in field goal percentage) has something to do with that, but it's worth continued monitoring.
