  1. Creating their own shot - that is what we need at the SG/SF. A consistent player that can create their own shot. Payne is a solid jump shooter - not great, but solid. He will definitely contribute to the Hawks right away - probably avg 9pts, 7rbs per game, but having a SG and/or SF that we can count on to not only create their own shot but to defend is key. Sure its hard to find - which unfortunately leads me to believe that Ferry will sign Deng
  2. Let me get this straight....Jeff Teague averages 19pts in the playoffs and you want to trade him for Jeremy Lin, who averages less points and less assist. HAWKS FANS PLEASE WAKE UP!!! We need SG/SF not an average point guard that could take away from Schröder seeing the court. YES, i know Schröder struggled as a 19year old rookie last year, but having Teague coming off his best season and Schröder as a back up will have the Hawks set at the PG positions for the next 4 to 6years.
  3. Well i wasn't super excited, b/c i felt the Hawks had glaring needs at SG/SF spot. I would of have been happier with Gary Harris over Payne. With that said, Payne is a blue collar hard nose player, that will grab rebounds and hit the occassional 10-15ft jumpshot...Hopefully, Danny can bring in a SG/SF that could help stretch the floor for our bigs to operate.
  4. WindhorstESPN Brian Windhorst Cavs believed to be preparing a max offer sheet for restricted free agent Gordon Hayward, sources said. Yahoo reported he is visiting today
  5. Looks like the Hawks from most reports are targeting Deng and Bazemore as potential free agents and with the addition of Adreian Payne, Lamar Patterson - The Hawks appear to follow the formula for a solid team. HOWEVER, in a star driven league is this enough? Even with these moves the Hawks are no better than 5th the weak East and possibly another 1st round exit... I would love if the Hawks could get Klay Thompson from Golden State, then the offseason would be stellar..
  6. Greg Monroe (S&T) for Paul Milsap + Salmons...The only way i see this trade coming through is if the Hawks have their sites on a elite outside shooter..
  7. You do realize that the fact Wade & Bosh opted out means that Lebron is 95% chance of returning to the Heat. Wade & Bosh will take significantly less money to allow Lebron to get the max and acquire an additional piece. He isn't holding anyone hostage.
  8. Ferry is doing his due diligence people. Keep in mind that Milshap and Horford are signed to great contracts and could be moved for the right piece. Remember Kevin Love, Klay Thompson, etc., could be acquired for the right pieces. I'm not saying we are getting these players, but Ferry will give it a shot.
  9. We definitely need an elite shooter, but not sure if I give up Horford just yet. I would be escstatic if we traded Milshap + filler instead
  10. Interesting move - I wonder what Ferry has up his sleeve....I hate to lose the 7footer though, but i guess the newly drafted Tavares made one of the 7footers expendable...Who are we freeing up cap space for is the big question.
  11. So his ineffectiveness had nothing to do with the a subpar SG, SF, etc., and Jerry Lin will fix those problems? You must be Houston Rockets fan.
  12. So our PG has a break out year and plays well in the playoffs and you want to trade him for a back up point guard and a draft pick....Sigh.....Please aim higher
  13. Paul Millshap could land the #8pick, especially since the Kings don't want more youth..not sure if Ferry would do that trade
  14. Gordon reminds me of Derrick Williams...remember him from Arizona - now he rides the Bench in Sacramento...Look pass the athletic ability, look for a player that can contribute and fill a need for the Hawks. I have watched a ton of college basketball, and it's no secret that I'm a big Wolverine Fan, and I think Stauskas would be a great shooter and slasher in the mode of Klay Thompson, but even then if the Hawks should trade up. I would imagine them going for the #1pick as we need a star power player.
  15. Yes...he can shoot and is a great college scorer, BUT he can't create his own shot....PLEASE NO FERRY
  16. Gordon? No way he is a PF and GOD knows we don't need anymore Power Forwards playing out of position. According to Chad Ford - if the Hawks make this trade they would take a Dario Saric (who is a SF in a Power Forwards body), or Nik Stauskas. I would expect Ferry to make a trade to move up in this draft as we really need a SG, SF badly. The Hawks really need a superstar and one would think that the trade rumors with Cleveland would happen if Cleveland is willing to take Horford and a future #1 rounder. My guess is a lot depends on whether the Heat lose the Finals. Lebron wants to contend for titles, wants redemption in Cleveland (per sources) and possibly adding Al Horford to Cleveland would entice him and conversely keep Kyrie. Or atleast that is what Cleveland hopes...lol If Ferry can get the #1pick in the Draft for Horford and a future #1pick unprotected then he should be GM of the year.
  17. If you are ATL you absolutely have to explore trading Al-Horford for #1pick in this draft...NO QUESTIONS ASKED. But who would you draft....Wiggins or Embid?
  18. False on all accounts but one. Using the 15th pick maybe slightly high for GR3 but that is solely on his stats during this past Michigan season...This is a pretty good draft, but lets be honest the Hawks need a SG, SF and maybe another big man and by most accounts GR3 is slated to go anywhere between 21- 30 pick in this draft. Now let's be clear the workouts will determine how high he goes, but the only small forward who I would pick over him at that range would be Rodney Hood. Keep in mind when you play on teams with multiple scoring averages you stats will suffer. My only concern with him is to really be aggressive on offense - but a good coach like Bud could fix that...
  19. Well, now you see how important the PG position is in basketball. When you play with the National Player of the Year (Trey Burke) and replace him with an inexperience pg in Derrick Walton shots all around become difficult. Glenn Robinson would be a great pick for the Hawks b/c he is a team first player, and he has all the tools to be an elite player, its just that sometime he is not as aggressive. I would expect the Hawks to look hard at Glenn Robinson & Rodney Hood for the #15 spot, provided that Nik Stauskas is gone.
  20. What in the world are you guys talking about. We finally have a PG that is improving every year and you want to trade him for the #8pick in the draft....SMH The only way the Hawks make a trade is to get us in the top 4 and trust me Ferry is not trading Teague as good pgs are the hardest thing to find.
  21. I certainly hope the Hawks can get another 1st rounder...Maybe trade with Chicago of Phx for one of their lower 1st round picks. I would love it if the Hawks could have two 1st rounders and draft McGary with the later 1st round pick. We need a big man with high energy and power in the paint....
  22. Please no thank you. If you saw the NCAA tourney you would understand. A great college player, but can't create his own shot...
  23. Unfortunately Nik Stauskas wont be available at #15 Likely candidates would be...Please no more PFs Rodney Hood, Glenn Robinson III
