  1. I slammed my beer on the ground....so glad I didnt throw it at the TV.....who said Hawks games are not riveting and stressful!! GO HAWKS
  2. The Hawks played a complete all around game today, even without Korver playing well. GREAT TEAM...and what a coaching job from Bud.....Something Atlanta sports teams are not used to, a great coach who actually make adjustments.
  3. I would expect the Hawks to draft a rim protector / rebounder if available....or a SG that can create his own shot....
  4. I was actually having this same discussion about the Hawks with a coworker before the playoffs. It's great that we have a great team, but when our bench players, or secondary players are struggling, who do we go to? Unfortunately, our stars are not really great stars, but good players....and it's killing our playoff dream.. Not sure how this series will turn out
  5. Let's keep the squad healthy for the playoffs...Now can someone please beat the NETS so we can get a lottery pick
  6. Exactly! This is solely for the playoffs. The Hawks need to give their opponents something else to think about, and we will need more practice playing small & fast....The playoffs is approaching and we need every edge possible to advance.
  7. You guessed it I'm a Michigan Man, but I'm also a die hard Atlanta who love my Hawks. Coach Bud excels at getting players to learn their strengths, and although the Hawks need another perimeter player, Nik Staukas could give us what Jenkins never quite developed into...a good shooter who can study and learn under Korver... I say we trade jenkins and our Minnesota pick for Nik Staukas
  8. Antić shoots 30% from 3 point range, and it forces the other teams big to come out and guard him....So as soon as he passes the ball to one of our wings, they can attack the basket without much resistance...I mean have you even watch the Hawks play this season? You do understand that part of our advantage in Coach Buds system is our ability to defend, shoot, and the versatility of our 4 & 5. Plumlee can't shoot from outside so why would we make a trade for a player who doesnt fit our system on the offensive side of the ball...Come on people wake up!!!
  9. I totally agree....Unfortunately, some Hawks dont realize that Antić actually stretches the floor, which makes it easier for us to get easier baskets elsewhere..Coach BUD is playing Chess not checkers people!! Strategy and execution has us as the top seed in the East...>WHY WOULD WE CHANGE THAT
  10. You only make a trade if you have no choice and/or it benefits the Hawks. The Hawks are holding all the cards right now, we have chemistry, we are winning. Plus we have the nets draft pick. No need to make a move just for the sake of making a move...This is chess not checkers..
  11. You are a dreamer..... If the Hawks want to contend we need an upgrade at the SF spot. Ferry was probably hoping that Payne would come in and play right away, which would allow him to free up other assets for potential trades but that doesnt appear to be happening. With that said Coach Bud is awesome, but unfortunately i still dont see us getting past the 2nd round
  12. Thank you - you beat me to it...the summer league is unproven draft picks, undrafted free agents, and NBADL players...
  13. I would be shocked if we don't make some sort of trade in the next few weeks.....if not than damn what a waste of a BeBe
  14. Ken Berger @KBergCBS · 33m Deng's deal with Miami is two years, $20 million with a player option after the first year, source says.
  15. Without Deng, the hawks have a decent seeding...not sure I agree with the Raptors place, but the East is wide open.. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24617754/seeding-the-new-look-eastern-conference-teams-playoff-style
  16. We pushed Indy to 7games WITHOUT arguably our best player Al Horford. Do Hawks Fans really understand the concept of winning or basketball? Our best chance at winning is building a team with depth, although i hate the Spurs b/c their style of play is really not flashy. Aside from Tony Parker speed, ability to get to the basketball everyone else is pretty much fundamentally strong, knows their role and execute it effectively.
  17. End of the day is about two things, that many Hawks fans don't seem to get 1) Money 2) Ability to win a title It's as simple as that, people Cleveland is not a destination city by any means, but yet Lebron goes there and all of a sudden Kevin Love is open to it b/c of point 2. The NBA unlike many other sports is a star driven league, the silver lining is the Spurs continuously prove that a deep, well coach team with past their prime players can still win a title. The Hawks are building depth, still need more talent on the wings though, but who knows a healthy Hawks team may just surprise people next season.. Danny Ferry has always said he will build the team the right way, and not mortgage the future.
  18. Short answer - Monroe doesn't fill a need for the hawks. We need a SF people- this is not playstation or fantasy basketball. If all else fails we can move milsap at the trade deadline...for a player we NEED!
  19. Michigan State always missing the big picture....lol With Deng on our squad with Buds system and in light of all that has happened in the East - would give us every chance to make it to the ECF PG- Teague / Schröder SG- Korver / Sefalosha SF- Deng / Bazemore PF- Milsap / Payne C= Horford / Antić / Muscala Look at the depth the Hawks have..,,,SPURS EAST HAS ARRIVED
  20. You truly don't understand the concept of winning or the business side of basketball. I'm not the biggest Lebron fan, but he gave everything to that organization, but he just wanted to play with his good friends in Miami. Us everyday people make these decisions all the time when we leave a job for a new job. Sure the old job was great, but the growth opportunity in the new job is better so we switch jobs...no different except our paychecks are not 8 digits long. Now of course we wont make any press conferences about leaving, but he learned from that....
  21. You do realize why he did it right? A max contract will be worth more once the new TV deal comes into play and it forces the ownership in Cleveland to continue to enhance the roster...Genius business move by Lebron http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11207703/lebron-james-deal-cleveland-cavaliers-2-years-421-million
  22. Why? so we can have 4 power forwards competing for time. Monroe would not even start here if we signed him out right...Read my words carefully - WE NEED A SF !! Not another PF
  23. Understanding the fact that the teams that win championships are seasoned with experience. Rebuilding is not the answer, just look a philly, orlando etc.. The Hawks need to continue to enhance the roster and since no big name free agents want to come here, we need to build the team out thorough acquiring assets (Paul Milsap, etc.), and draft well. You do realize that we are close, and now that the Eastern Conference is wide open - I would expect Ferry to make a splash this summer. You heard it here first - Patience people- Winter is Coming !
  24. You may like when crazy is on your team, but not when he is a locker room cancer. Hawks fans should know better remember JR Rider - we have to build the team the right way. Ferry has built a solid team that plays hard, we need a star on the court and in the locker room. Lance is not the answer at any price.
