  1. I find this to be true but I doubt those trade talks last long unless we are getting a center involved along with klay...maybe a 3 team trade. Also props to ferry. I love how he atleast has the cap flexibility every off season to atleast try to go after these superstar free agents...he's not likely to land bron or melo but atleast he's putting the team in a position every off season to try. I really like that! All while keeping a competitive team on the floor!.....I see you ferry!

    Do you think...

Exactly I love big al but get over it. I'm sure bud will switch the lineup up when they face off against a bigger center. As for what happens with sap. We are keeping him and horford. You guys jump to conclusions as if we have a hall of fame big man and we don't. I'm sure ferry will try his best to keep sap and horford here longer and in the future sap may come off the bench for Payne if not traded. We may not have a true center but this is the first time in a long while that we have a good big man rotation. If we are trying to be the spurs east we need to make sure we keep these guys...all of them. Next we need to bring in a vet center) Horford, Sap, Payne equals quality big man rotation for the future.
  3. Yeah @JayBirdHawk I think a vet center may still be on the to do list! Gortat would be a great addition, I would take hill and of course my favorite spencer hawes but either way I see ferry signing vet big man....and SF in free agency. I don't see brand coming back and Pero may be the odd man out too since we drafted Payne.
  4. Agree...hope they bring him over.
  5. Lol I'm not about to argue with you over our own players! They are both good players and they are on the hawks...chill! All I said was that horford is a possible all star if you think he's a sure all star and sap isn't then great, nothing to argue about. What the hell I look like arguing about two players on the damn hawks? You are turning this into sap vs horford thread and I just wanted to talk about our decent big man rotation ferry is building. So let me make you happy now before you whine all through my damn thread... -horford (all star) -sap (possible all star) I wasn't trying to compare sap and horford. Just want to talk about the big man rotation. You think horford is an all star ok I get it, great! What do you think about our big man rotation?
  6. Lol well soorrrrryyyy.... -horford (all star)...lol He may be an all star in hawks fan eyes but since they took the center position out of the all star game it will be harder for him to get in the all star game talk...not saying he won't because he def capable. And why sap got to be in a bullshit category? What has sap done to get this hatred?
  7. Why do everyone believe we drafted Payne to get rid of Sap or Horford? Here's my thoughts... it's not true. I said this before one of the best things about the spurs are their big man rotation. No other team in the nba has a big man rotation like the spurs. I understand that Duncan is the superstar anchor but the hawks don't have that as we clearly know and probably will not get a Duncan type player but just like Duncan is the spurs big man anchor rotation superstar that is what horford and sap is for us. Payne was drafted to be apart of our special big man rotation not to take someone's spot. Now in the event that a team signs sap to a crazy ass offer next off season then yeah I see Payne as insurance but I say we keep our anchors sap and horford for the rest of their careers unless ferry finds a good trade. Our BIG MAN rotation is getting deep!!! -Sap (possible all star) -horford (possible all star) -Payne (very bright future) -Scott (much improved player$ -Pero (center that can spread the floor but does not need starter minutes) -Muscala (I really like this kid) And hopefully -bebe (I think he's ready to get some nba minutes) Personally I would cut Pero, put muscala in the d league, bring over bebe and sign gortat or hawes to have an excellent big man rotation but what we have works too!
  8. I say Teague continues as our starter. I think Teague gets one last chance to really prove what he's got. I know I said that last year but since he was under a new coach and new system I think ferry/bud would like to give him another shot to try to be the man. As for Dennis...I'm calling it right now. Dennis is going to receive full backup pg minutes next season. Mack is on his way out. (Also I think Patterson makes the team as a backup SG)
  9. Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!.....ass comment...but funny
  10. Thanks for giving us your feedback on Payne! It was def needed on these boards. Personally I already knew of the guy so I was cool with the pick....any ways I wanted to say that I would have to disagree with you on the sap leaving the hawks. I think Sap stays unless we get a really good player for him. To me if the hawks are trying to be the spurs east they better hold on to quality big men like sap so they can have a great rotation. Everybody says sap won't come back for 9m but honestly if ferry has to...11m per year is worth keeping Sap. I don't see sap as a player to chase money I honestly believe he just wants to win and be apart of something special. I see Sap as a hawk in future.
  11. I like that last part you said....us being hawk fans and knowing how badly we need bigs, we should have realized that wings are more plentiful in free agency as you mentioned...in fact because that's true I see why ferry chose to draft his big to develop and just grab a wing to that can come in and help now. I see ferry going hard after.... -parsons -deng -ariza In that order. Getting just one of those guys and our team will be pretty damn good going into next season.
  12. -co sign with you on Payne! Great pick! We need a very good big man rotation and adding Payne may have just given us just that.....10 -Tavares was a great pick! I can see him and bebe being over here in 2 years ready to take on the nba, love the pick but right now he's just a draft and stash....10 -Lamar Patterson...you say this is a nice pick...I say this is our best pick! I'm really high on this guy. I feel he's our Kwahi Leonard pick, not that he plays like Leonard but the Patterson pick feels like bud has a lot to do with it. The guy is a good size SG at 6'5 226 that's a good defender, savy scorer and above average passer!...Bud is going to mold this kid into something great! We will love this pick by mid season. I think this kid will get plenty of PT........10 (plus bonus from me)
  13. Gotcha...I honestly like the Wes Matthews comparison! Only difference is, is that he will be using his talents under a spurs like system so the sky is the limit for him. By the way I agree with him being a system player...lol the way he plays he looks like he's a system player and I'm completely fine with that! In fact it gives me all the more reason to believe bud had something to do with drafting him just like he had something to do with drafting Kwahi..who many believe is a system player. Anyways this kid has a legit chance to start and I feel that he's going to get plenty of on court time at SG to prove himself mainly because he's already committed to working hard on defense.
  14. Seriously this is a no joke question....Forget the Danny Green comparisons, leave that to john Jenkins...but is it me or does Lamar Patterson feel like a Kwahi Leonard pick? -he's 6'5 and 226...put him at SG and he's a bigger SG in the nba with great size -he was a good but not great defender in college...but the fact that he was a good defender speaks loudly to me! I'm sure he can improve to be a great defender -he's average in athleticism but he's a very savy & unique scorer and his above average passing ability makes up for his little to no to average athleticism....also you can tell he has a high BBIQ I know you guys are going to call me crazy but this pick has Budenholzer written all over it in my opinion. He may not be Kwahi but he's special I can tell that right off the back. I'm serious when I say I believe he can compete and be a possible starter by atleast year 2 at SG...bud is going to develop this beast..I don't know him well but my gut is high on him more than any other player we drafted.
  15. Wow!...right on point @Diesel
  16. Love it! Love it! Love it!....can we please bring Tavares or Bebe over for next season?! Please ferry!
  17. I'm cool with the pick but we still need a SG/SF
  18. Lol oh you felt that too?...thought it was just me! Yeah I hope to see a move or two tonight but if not all hope ain't loss.....yet
  19. That's true...if you think about it like that Orlando was never going to give us Afflalo
  20. Probably surprised ferry that Afflalo was given away so easily to be honest. I don't know what to say I'm sure ferry just isn't sitting on his ass...if he is we will find out very soon.
  21. Yeah those who are hating on deng is judging him from a bad cavs team with a terrible front office and coach. If deng came here we would be getting the bulls deng...what we need to worry about is his health. Ferry won't sign him to some crazy ass deal! His health is really the main issue here. Deng fits the SF role bud would want.
  22. I'm not worried....I didn't expect some huge signing for the hawks this season anyways. I look at the hawks situation as a prove it to us and then players will want to come here. I just want the hawks to be a top 3 seed which I see possible and play with some heart when the playoffs come around. I'm happy with: -sign deng to very decent contract he shouldn't get anymore than 8m -sign spencer hawes -bring over bebe -draft & stash saric or draft Kyle Anderson, Rodney Hood, or James Young Oh and... -if possible move up in draft to number 8 and get Marcus smart Those are realistic moves the hawks can do and be a 3 seed once the team adjust to the way coach bud wants them to play.....I'm not worried.
  23. Calm down...let's wait before we continue judging. However I get how nbasupe is feeling but I want to give ferry and bud a chance to make something happen this year and next off season. Now come next off season I'm probably going to be the one making threads like this but I'm willing to give ferry this whole off season and half of next off season before I get pissed off.
  24. What are the chances the hawks draft him on a scale 1-10? (If he drops to 15)
