  1. I'll add that I think people forget how versatile and efficient Lou is on the offensive end and I think people will be surprised how effective Milsap and Horford will be together.
  2. Start Season!!!!! Let's go. I'm tired of waiting:
  3. I'm totally on board with Granger. I think he'd be a perfect fit. Not sure what we'd have to give up to get him.
  4. I posted in another thread but I'll say it again: Teague, Lou, Korver, Carroll, Milsap, Horford, Brand. These are seven guys who have already proven themselves in the NBA and aren't going to get pushed around easily. We need another 2 guard but 7 quality nba rotation players including 2 all stars is a good start. Our new bigs have some experience and Dennis, Jenkins, and Scott have all shown promise. On top of that I don't see where you can look at this team and think they are worse than last year. Smoove was good but so is Milsap. At almost every other position we've upgraded.
  5. Coach Bud is what I"m most worried about. Frankly I think we were spoiled by LD's ability to take loose change and make them a functional bball team. We all think Bud will be a better coach but that's not a given. Luckily we have guys who are going to work. Teague/Lou/Korver/Carroll/Milsap/Horford/Brand. That's 7 guys who've proven they know how to bring it every game in the NBA.
  6. Or trade for a disgruntled star mid season and push to the title!
  7. You are not alone http://sports.yahoo.com/news/five-reasons-rajon-rondo-nbas-most-overrated-star-220500698.html and here is why Ferry would probably not trade for him. I think Ferry likes guys who can shoot.
  8. This is the sad state of the NBA anyway. We can tell before training camp starts the handful of teams that have a real shot at the Finals and by Christmas we will basically know who's in the playoffs except for maybe 2 or 3 spots. This year is a little harder because there has been a lot of movement but i'd say in the east obviously Miami. To be honest I don't really see anyone else unless Miami has injuries but if i had to name some I guess I'd say Chicago and Indy. In the West: OKC, Spurs, Rockets. Clippers. So right now I'm guessing at 7 possiblities. By January I bet we can all narrow that to 4 and be right.
  9. Wizards, Cavs, Pistons and Hawks have a lot to prove. The difference is that our main guys were in the playoffs last year and their's, with the exception of Josh, weren't.
  10. Its flow of the game right? He's backup SG because he comes in when the other team's backups start to come in. So he typically isn't guarding Dwayne Wade and Joe Johnson. Even though he still logs minutes against the other team's starters it is after the tone of the game has been established. This is why Royal Ivey started for us right? Because you don't want a weak perimeter to start the game and go down double digits by giving a team paths to the basket when their legs are fresh. I agree with the premise though that we are really weak at the 2 which is why I could care less about acquiring some borderline starting center to move Horford to the 4. Horford will be much happier if we get a real scorer and as the Spurs have proved you can insert Diaw at center for short stretches.
  11. Smallish forwards who can shoot and rebound sounds like a Spurs thing to me.
  12. I think it'll be a great year for Teague. I like that he's being underestimated right now. I'm not sure we've really been written off by most pundits but i agree with Teague. If Teague, lou, korver, smoove, horford zaza is a playoff team then teague lou korver milsap horford brand should be a better playoff team. Plus i think we have a better bench except still weak at the 2.
  13. Nice plunk of Harper last night. That's guys an ass. I didn't think his HR trot was that showy but still. It can't hurt to take him down a couple notches. We'll see what happens.
  14. Smoove will be interesting. I don't know if Detroit will have a good season but I think they will give us fits. A motivated Smoove plus two excellent bigs and probably a pretty motivate Jennings to try to show up Teague. Can't believe we have to wait until March 13th for Zaza. I think LD will get a nice reception. Ovation for Zaza probably the biggest we've seen in a while.
  15. Jenkins was a garbage time player for the most part last year. Next step is to see if he can be in the real rotation. I hope he turns out to be great but last year he seemed to have real problems moving without the ball and doing anything with the ball when he couldn't get off an open shot. There again the Spurs seem to be able to get a lot of good out of guys who excel at shooting. Hopefully Bud can do that.
  16. We need a scorer. We have most other things. I know some say we don't have 'a true center' but I don't care. Get a real scorer, not a shooter, chucker, or undersized slasher, and we will be doing something. Of course, those guys are hard to find but I feel we are ready when the opportunity comes.
  17. That's fantastic and really amazing. Congratulations. Hopefully I'll make it there someday!
  18. I think we've found another center. LOL
  19. If we can get a 6'8" shooting guard i'll be happy.
  20. Johnson ATL.346 Can we get some props for Chris Johnson leading the NL batting race by 16 points 2. Molina STL .330
  21. It does look funny. Brand will be backing up center we know. Deshawn will be gone and replaced with Carroll. We are loaded up on PFs that for sure. I'm not one who thinks it matters that much but i know some do. What scares me most is if you look at the backcourt there isn't a lot of proven nba talent there. Only 2 guards on the whole team with any real nba experience. Uh Oh.
  22. I think we are looking for a SG. That's where we are weakest.
  23. Yeah i seem to keep getting older. My folks had season tix to the Flames so i grew up watching those guys. He was my favorite player. Got to meet Boom Boom Geoffrion while i was in high school. Nice guy. Can't believe we've lost two NHL franchises in my lifetime.
  24. Last year's team was fun to watch. This is why i'm concerned about Bud. I think this year's team is better and deeper but I hope Bud can get these guys to play together as well as LD did last year.
