Not really. The young guys have an excuse. They are young.

Al and JJ combined for 11 of 34 for 32%

The rest of the team was 19 of 42 for 45%

The numbers are self explanatory, as was the Rockets scoring at will driving down Hwy #3.

JJ's 5 turnovers were a nice touch too.

Defense involves more than just athleticism, it requires experience and knowledge of the game. Young team like the Hawks can fall for the veteran tricks of teams like the Rockets who are veteran teams (Wesley, McGrady, Howard)...it takes experience and knowledge not to fall for those vet tricks.

Granted 32% is low and unacceptable, but in Al and JJ's defense they have to take the tough shots for the team. Neither of them has been effective as the go to scorer.

Salim has been a little cold lately too.

As far as defense goes. I have to agree with the guy who said young players do not play good defense. Veterans generally are better defenders than young players.

It's just our luck that Tmac comes back to play against us.

Because this team is a bunch of bricklayers. Horrible in the second half last night.

How does JJ go from a 40% 3 point shooter to a 20% 3 point shooter in one season?

Salim is supposed to be one of the best shooters to enter the league in years and he was clunking them from long range.

Hopefully the Hawks core players can survive this season, develop some modicum of chemistry and experience, and then the front office can go about correcting the severe roster deficiencies in the off-season.

If BK does not acquire a quality point guard in the off-season he should be fired.

JJ's shooting percentage problem is obvious. He is having to take lower percentage shots because he is more of a focus of the offense.

He is a good shooter, but is still getting comfortable with his new role.

No question that Salim is a good shooter. Did you see any of the Oklahoma City game? Even great shooters go through cold streaks.

I don't know the answer, but that begs the question: Did the same thing happen to T-Mac when he left Vince and Toronto; Redd when Allen left Milwaukee?
