cyman3
sounds reasonable... although, i think RATLIFF has a chance (if his minutes increase, production increase, and fouls decrease).... i wish terry could be in it, but the EAST is filled with soo many good guards... DJ_Money
Ok, you've got the superstars that are playing up to expectations (Kidd, McGrady, Payton, ect.). They should all be there. You've got the surprise players of the year (Miller, Stackhouse, Big Z), that deserve to be there, but won't get voted there by the fans. But, then you've got Vince Carter and Shaq on there? I'm not saying that they won't be All-Stars, because if they can pull a jersey over their head, they'll be there. [censored], the fans will vote Shaq in if he never plays a game this year. I don't get it. Are these your choices? Or who you think will end up there?
Guest
I'd say both...Some guys you know are just going to be there. And of course I have some surprises...If JT cuts down on the turnovers he could have a shot.
Premium Member Diesel Posted November 15, 2002 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 15, 2002 East. Kidd - PG Tmac - SG Hill - SF Walker - PF Deke - C Non Starters = Davis, Iverson, K. Brown, Shareef, Stackhouse, KMart, Carter. Honorable Mentions: Ricky Davis, Mashburn, Big Z, G. Robinson, Jordan, Theo, and Jefferson. I have always felt that ALLStar games were merely popularity contests... BUt if we were looking at the Best in the East, this is Diesel's view: Kidd Tmac Mashburn K. Brown Theo Non Starters. Iverson, Ricky Davis, Big Z, Robinson, Shareef, Jefferson, and Allan Houston. I can deal with the west later.

Guest
Diesel - I know you didn't just put Kwame Brown on your all-star ballot. honestly. East-to date- predictions, with starters* being based on fans and bu's on coaches predictions: guards: TMac,* Jordan,* Kidd, AI, Pierce; Forwards: Grant Hill*, Vince Carter* Mashburn, Abdur-Rahim, J. O'Neal; Center: Ben Wallace*, Theo I can't remember what, if any, the breakdown is as far as having bu's from various positions, but remember that there are only three catagories - guard, forward, and center. Comments: -With Jordan and Pierce both being forwards listed as guards, it really makes things interesting. If Jordan doesn't get the fan vote, Kidd will (and should), and I therefore expect Baron Davis or Stackhouse to replace him at that position. -I hope the injured VC, unless he comes back quickly, doesn't get the auto bid. You should have to earn all-star each year. -Robinson could sneak in there as a forward, possibly giving us three all-stars. That'd be huge. -Milwaukee will probably have no all-stars this year. - Reef almost has the way paved for him; as you look across the charts, there are almost no pf's in the east that can score in the block. None. Which is the tougher road to being an all-star - being a "guard" in the east or a "forward" in the West?
Premium Member Diesel Posted November 16, 2002 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 16, 2002 Don't know what I was smoking. I didn't realize Brown was shooting so Badly. VC will get voted in because for the past 2 yrs he has had more votes than Anyone. Jordan will get voted in by sympathy. AND Hill will get voted in because of sympathy and he has always been a fan favorite. If Orlando offered us Hill for Ratt over the summer, I would have taken it.
