From a reliable source on PacersDigest.com:

Quote:

Its a 3way trade----- Pacers trade exemption to Bucks for Magliore and Hawks want Pacer #1 --- Pacers get Al Harrington.

A simple 2team trade Pacers send 7.5 mil exemption to Hawks for a resigned Al Harrington .

Then in a seperate deal send for example Fred Jones to Hawks for a #2.

You make it 2 seperate trades, That is totally ok .

I've been told Pacers are offering a lot of options and talks are progressing.

So, he's not the greatest of writers, but it's basically:

1. TPE to Milwaukee for Magloire (saves the cheapos in BeerTown some $)

2. Magloire, Indy 1st to Atl for re-signed Al Harrington

3. A possible third move of Fred Jones to Atlanta for a 2nd rounder.

Al, 2nd -for- Magloire, Indy 1st, Jones

Any day of the week, suckers. Go Billy Knight!

(I should caution you and myself that Magloire might not be the player involved, but it sounds definite that Atlanta will get Indiana's 1st).

The TPE Indy acquired in the Peja trade isn't sufficient to acquire Magloire.

Hmm...

Still, it's clear that Indy wants Al, Atlanta wants an expiring big + 1st...Who knows what else will happen?

Would you guys consider Joe Smith, Jones, 1st for Al, 2nd a good trade?

Did someone say MIL is needing a backup PG? I'll go look later, but if that's the case, then it testifies to why IND has acquired both Daniels and Greene over the last week or so.

So why would the Bucks do this deal?

Presumably, they would use the TPE they acquire from trading Magloire for a PG or wing.

So, in theory, it would become a four-team trade.

Actually, I think the idea is that they would not use the TPE and would be able to rid themselves of Magloire's salary since they reportedly don't want to spend like they did last year. Kind of a like a simpler version of our trade for Terrell Brandon.

if it's a four team trade then it could probably work.

So is this the 2006-2007 Hawks' roster on opening night?

PG: Speedy Claxton / Tyronn Lue / Royal Ivey

SG: Joe Johnson / Fred Jones / Salim Stoudamire

SF: Marvin Williams / Josh Childress

PF: Josh Smith / Shelden Williams / Esteban Batista

C: Zaza Pachulia / Jamal Magloire / Soloomon Jones

That's very different from last year, though.. lots of new faces that will take a while to gel. frown.gif

And Chill is just buried! Maybe he gets traded sooner rather than later.

It sounds like Atlanta is basically sitting on a bare bones deal, waiting for one of the two teams to up their offers. (They want Monta Ellis from GS, but Mullin isn't biting).

From what I've read on other sites, it sounds like they are perfectly content with S&T Al for the TPE + Indy first as the last resort.

So, at the very least, the Hawks should be getting a first out of this.

(My only question: would Al accept a deal starting at $7.6M? Over five years that would be worth $46M. Over six years it's worth $58M, but I'm not sure if they still retain his Bird rights...).
