cyman3
We are 5 games back for wild card and 5 games back from being the division leader. right now is our BEST chance to move up. we gotta take the series between both teams.
Zone034life
To say these next two series are big is an understatement. And please start diaz against left or right handed pitchers!
coachx
Get it done NOW or forever hold your peace. At least hold your peace until 2008.
DJlaysitup
Agreed...If we don't make up ground now we can pretty much kiss the season goodbye. OTOH, if we do win like 5 out of 6, we then have the Nats coming to town and homefully can tack on some more wins to solidify our gain.
Dexmethylphenidate
Braves are done. They depend their wins on Huddy and Smoltz but lately that's not a given. Falcons football in 1 week!
DrReality
Stick a fork in them. The only picture we have holding their own now is Smoltz. They looked like a sorry bunch tonight.
Yubs
Getting swept by the Mets. Yeah... I'd say it's over. Oh well, there's always next year.
DrReality
That's really too bad, bacause after they traded for Tex I got excited about them. Hadn't been that pumped over them in years, and then they don't have the pitching to pull it off. Sucks big time.
Moderators AHF Posted September 4, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted September 4, 2007 Do you know how big a difference it would have made this year had we had Adam Wainwright on the staff instead of our rental of JD Drew? We will be paying for that trade for a while, IMO.
Gray Mule
When they score a lot, they get no pitching. When they get pitching, they can't score. "Timely hitting?" What's that? Something they don't have. Murphy's law applies to this year's Braves. Since Atlanta is falling fast, who do we, the Braves fans, root for in the playoffs and hopefully the World Series? Moderators AHF Posted September 5, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted September 5, 2007 I follow the headlines but I am not a big enough baseball fan to have much of a rooting interest once the Braves are out of it. It is sad to know we are watching Andrew Jones end his outstanding career with the Braves with this wasted season.
Dexmethylphenidate
Andrew jones sucks this season... he sucks badly.
cyman3
i blame this season's downfall on 1) Pitching 2) Andruw Jones
Moderators AHF Posted September 5, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted September 5, 2007 It is unlikely that all would have stayed healthy, but this season could have been dramatically different with a healthy Gonzalez, Dotel and Hampton.
TroyMcClure
Just give me a healthy Gonzales and we are wild-card leaders right now. Give me 10 to 15 from Hampton and we win the division. I'm still hoping for 12 out of the next 15! This is baseball. It ain't over till it's over! Go Braves! I'll have my but in the seats the last week here in contention or not. This is it for Andruw and as much as I hate what he's become as a hitter, I'll miss him dearly. I'm not old enough to have seem Willie Mays, but I've seen Andruw Jones. We have all been very lucky as Braves fans. I just wish they could make one last chop to the top this year! Johann
I saw Willie. The Michael Jordan of baseball. Great, great player, with the bat, on the bases, in the field, in the clubhouse. But for pure glove, give me Andruw.
