oiatlhawksfan
With Childress gone he isn't as expendible as he use to be, and we could get him cheap now instead of overpaying for him next season
Joker
With Childress gone he isn't as expendible as he use to be, and we could get him cheap now instead of overpaying for him next season Hell yeah, after this debacle we give Marvin a extention tomm. 6yr 42 mil. thefloydian
I would, but I think Marvin is going to improve next year.
Joker
LOL @ NBAwhatever no way in hell Marvin takes that deal Marvin will sign for 5/55+ next year hahaha, good one... 5/55+ is too much. He doesn't have great stats and he's a prototyical SF. He not even a #2 option yet. 5/45 would be a reach for his production.
Deeman
I say we offer him a 5 year 40mill contract. I dought he will accept it. If you read the Q&A with Sekou its obvious he is working for a big contract next year.
EazyRoc
We should wait until the middle of the season. However I think 5/43 is about what Marvin should be expecting in an extension.
DJlaysitup
Don't offer Marvin a dime until we see what that 245lbs 3 point shooting practice works out to be. Plenty of 6'8" 245 guys out there who can't shoot - I got kicked out of a bar in Murfreesboro TN a month ago by one of them (I didn't argue much). :stirthepot:
Cwell
Hell no. He hasn't done anything to warrant an extension. I would have no problem with lowballing him. Funny how some of ya'll would want to trade Smoove but are quick to want to resign that duck that can't stay on his feet or create a shot. baffling

Plainview1981
Not yet...too premature...wait till all star break or whatever. Marvin is just barely an average starter.

Plainview1981
Come on dude....drink some optimism. When I watch Marvin I just don't see an impact type of player. Other than Bibby, I think he has the least impact of any starter in the lineup. No way is this dude worth even CLOSE to 10 million a year until he gets ALOT better. Jammin29
yeah i would 54 6 years, i believe in the dude. i think that could be a bit of steal for the future. well actrully 7/8 mil would be a steal that we might be able to swing for but 9 sounds right to me Edited August 9, 2008 by Jammin29
Swish
I agree, I would go the 5/45 route or 4/35 or something unless he absolutely explodes.
exodus
The Hawks won't be able to sign Marvin to an extension once the season starts. I don't know the actual deadline to get it done but i know it can't get done during the season. I seriously doubt anything gets done. Marvin isn't nearly as important to the team as Smith so if the ASG plays hardball with him i won't have a problem with it.
