Bibby is hurt again?

Wd don't even know the extent of the injury and you want to ship him out?

When was the last time he was healthy? His piss poor showing in the playoffs last year along with his injury problems is enough of a reason to trade him. He performs poorly against good teams anyway.

Really really thought that??? :nono:

He is Mike Bibby. Of course he is going to be injured just like Speedy is Speedy. Bibby should be gotten rid of soon because he is a gimp like Speedy. Another brilliant job by Billy to select another gimpy PG.

Bibby has been very durable until last season. He only has a strain so why take any chances on making it worse for a preseason game?

Prior to last year Bibby played in 80 or more games in 7 of 9 seasons in the nba. His rookie year was one of the two he didn't play in 80. Now maybe he is breaking down but i wouldn't say he has a history of missing games.

Wow! Bibby and Marvin get the hate on this board by some. Now let somthing happen to Mario West and there would be no discussion.

You gotta wonder if it is harder for him to play through these injuries as he gets older. The body just doesn't bounce back as quickly, but you have to respect his courage to suck it up. If Law keeps playing like he's started, maybe Bibby's minutes will be cut back. That would probably help.

Small injuries / Bibby - Marvin are a blessing in disguise.

If they were big injuries, I'd be worried. They're not.

With them out of the lineup, others will get more playing time.

That's VERY important in pre season. What should be happening

is now forced to happen. We sit both Marvin and Bibby.

We are satisfied that we know what they are capable of doing.

There remains some questions about some others. This is the

time to find out - Not after the season begins.

Well Hotlanta hates everyone, so I wouldn't judge the board from his posts.

Mike also can't defend at all. There is a reason that the Kings gave him away. It's because he isn't worth much of anything. The Hawks benefited from a weak 2nd half schedule last year and that had more to do with making the playoffs than anything Bibby helped do. Keep in mind that for what Bibby did to help make the offense better, he equally brought down the defense.

Bibby is a bad defender with an inconsistent 3pt shot and slightly above average passing skills. That's all. He has no in between game as an offensive player anymore and he will continue to make the Hawks a bad defensive team this season. Being better than Anthony Johnson and Ty Lue doesn't make you a keeper. Bibby isn't a good enough offensive player anymore to makeup for his terrible defense.

His "performance" in the in the post season might have been the worst of any player in the post season. He is no longer productive against good teams. His shooting percentage has been going down for like the last 5 years. The one thing that he is supposed to be good at... He is now just slightly above average. I think some teams are still fooled by the rep he made several years ago. But when he runs up against a good defense, he is a horrible basketball player now.

Don't believe me?

The stats don't lie:

Alot more bad than good. He was downright terrible against Boston, SA, and Philly. Yeah, you could say they're three of the best defensive teams. But 1-11 games are uncalled for. The guy was once a top clutch productive that could get you 18/6 on 44% shooting. Now he gets you 12 points on 40% shooting.

Acie Law takes advantage of playing time

By SEKOU SMITH

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Injuries to the other point guards have allowed second-year point guard Acie Law IV to see some quality minutes at the position, something that eluded him during an uneven rookie season.

Law is grateful for the opportunity and has used it to show that he is an improved floor leader and shooter.

He’s second only to Josh Smith in minutes (27.8 average) and points (13.5) while also shooting a team-best .556 (5-for-9) from beyond the 3-point line. He’s also averaging 2.8 assists to 1.8 turnovers and making a lasting impression on his coaches and teammates in the process.

“It’s like I told everybody from the first day of camp,” he said. “I was the 11th pick [in the draft] for a reason, so I have something to prove. I know this is just the preseason to some people. But I want my teammates and coaches to know that they can count on me to be ready whenever things get tight.”

I'm not sure what this means exactly. In my book, I'd rather have the guy who is better than Lue and AJ than Lue and AJ. No one is saying sign him to an extension but as you said yourself he is better than what we had last year.
