the_sheff
If Big Baby can develop a consistent mid range shot then Al can too. This offseason he needs to do nothing but learn how to hit that shot. Then we can at least incorporate some pick and rolls in our gameplan. Moderators AHF Posted May 11, 2009 Moderators Report Share Posted May 11, 2009 Then we can at least incorporate some pick and rolls in our gameplan. I don't think Horford has been the factor that has kept us from incorporating pick and rolls in our gameplan.

Cwell
practicing it means nothing when u barely get to convert it to game situations. Big Baby consistently has that shot set up for him. Our offense has no clue.

the_sheff
Well when Al has had the chance to shoot a midrange jumper it is usually very off target. Usually hitting the side of the rim and not the inside of the cylinder.

Lies and damned lies. via 82games.com: FG% on 2 point jumpshots Joe Johnson: 41.2 Al Horford: 41.0 Glen Davis: 36.5 And just for fun Josh Smith: 32.

Kimsey
PP made that play while Joe would have tried to shoot over D12. Big Baby is already a better rounded offensive player than Al mainly because his ability to drive and finish to his left.

As long as Al doesn't also attend the Big Baby/Eddy Curry school of rebounding. What a waste of two big guys. They can score down low. Not much else. JJFAN4LF
Al Horford showed that he had a midrange game during the regular season. When he was open, he made it. I think the ankle thing has to be bothering him in the playoffs. As Wally Blase said, "if this was the regular season, all these players would be out for weeks." tgunzz
His second class should be at Rick Mahorn's school of low-post intimidation.

Funny what an ankle injury and a few missed days can do to your timing and confidence.

Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted May 12, 2009 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2009 Horford was horrible in the playoffs. So was Marvin. I think injuries are definitely to blame though.
DJlaysitup
Hell lets just sign Big Baby We had Big Baby in the high second round - but we traded that pick to get AJ to try and keep our win total up to justify GM/Coaches being retained. I hope AJ does good next year...ooops...he's gone. Not trying to be a smart @ss - but really...most of our recent moves have been to salvage GM/Coach paychecks. We seem to just want to keep the 13 - to - whatever thing going. Pretty easy when you start at 13...until now. It gets harder.
