NBA: Marvel Covers

Pretty radical change for conservative Stern.

stern didn't have anything to do with it. disney (who owns espn) bought marvel, and so espn and marvel teamed up to do them for the latest espn mag.

hawks one is pretty lame, but the comic guys just went with whatever theme the espn guys told them to do, and espn's hawks love has been well documented.

Yeah...we got shafted on that. Even the Cavs (lowdown as it is) was pretty cool.

The art is nice though.

The Hawks did get a very weak one considering how many young and interesting players they have and especially how translatable the freakishly athletic Josh Smith should be to a comic book illustration.

A young avengers theme would of made a lot of sense.

The worst part about the entire thing is how many comic book artists live in Atlanta

  • Cully Hamner
  • Brian Stelfreeze
    {*]Georges Jeanty
  • Mark Bagley
  • Tom Fiester
  • Dexter Vines
  • John Tyler Christopher
  • Jason Pearson (just moved back)

Those are all VERY good artists and any of them could have done a better cover than the guy they used.
