ENUFF WAITING, BRING IN SERGIY GLADYR!

I'm starting to get sick of Larry Drew and Sund saying that he's not physically ready yet!! What size do you really need to be an affective shooting specialist? Korver isn't a physical specimen, neither Eddie House.. The point is Gladyr can shoot the nylon out of the basketball net so why isn't he been given a chance. I can see the Hawks letting this guy slip through there fingers in a year or so.

Here's a video of him competing in the 2010 ACB Three Point Shootout:

What do you all think?? Drew says that he wants knock down shooters and Sergiy definately looks like one.

We have the rights to the Ukrainian Ray Allen and people are crying over Jamal Jr.

I definitely miss "he who's name shall not be mentioned" because I can see him doing big things in the future. But, if we let Sergiy go without putting him at the end of our bench I will be thoroughly disappointed. The kids has a really good stroke and has added a little more size to his frame. I can possibly see his stroke being substantially better than Korvers. You're right, he is the Ukranian version of Ray Allen..

I believe Atlanta brought him to camp last year and decided it would be best for him to spend another season in Europe where he would get more playing time.

Hopefully he is back in camp and can earn a spot this time around.

His shooting numbers are not what I expected in Europe. If he going to butter his bread by being a 3 point specialist then he needs to improve his shooting. He was only 34% from 3 and I believe the international 3 point line may be a step closer in then the NBA 3 point line.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-point_field_goal

NBA: Arc radius 23 feet 9 inches (7.24 m), no less than 3 feet (0.91 m) from each sideline[2]

FIBA: Arc radius 6.75 meters (22.1 ft), no less than 0.9 meters (3.0 ft) from each sideline[4]

From the report of one of our international fans months ago they said that although Sergs is playing in the top Spanish league he's on a poor team and opponents key in on him like a number 1 option so his 3point% is hampered by the fact that they are all contested.

I am not sure why Ray Allen's name has been thrown out mutliple times on this thread. Allen is a truly elite shooter and had a great all-around game in his prime (good passer, could get to the line, etc.).

Gladyr's 3pt contest stroke looked great (including that he shot faster than his opponents while not appearing to rush his shots at all) but let's not confuse exhibition shooting with actual games shooting. Allen's career low from NBA 3pt range was better than Gladyr's shorter international 3pt% last season. Look at Allen's career average and the difference is huge (40% from NBA to 34% from International).

I would retire the use of Allen in comparing Gladyr to NBA players.

This didn't sound too sarcastic, although I could be wrong on that.
