Dragitoff
I don't understand why Houston would want Gasol in that rumored deal? Seems like they'd be taking a giant step backwards. Giving up Scola and Martin for Gasol, especially Gasol coming off a bad year? Also, why would NY trade Amare for Paul when they could just sign him outright next off-season? Seems like if they were just patient, they'd be much better off. Paul, Melo, A'mare. Seems like a really good "Big-3" of their own to build around. Premium Member Vol4ever Posted December 8, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 8, 2011 Folks the Hawks have had every chance in the world to get CP3. They cant make a decision on anything. The ownership group is now more screwed up than it ever has been. The Hornets want Teague, Smoove for Paul and the management of the Hawks simply wont pull the trigger, its plain and simple. The Hawks organization is a embarassment to the NBA and the city of Atlanta.
CWebb
It's annoying to read all this negativity. Who said we could have Paul by trading Josh and Teague ? Nbasuperstar ? Do you really trust him that much ? Let's go Hawks.
ATLSmith
I don't know if anyone here has been following MLB free agency but Albert Pujols signed with the Angels even though they weren't even mentioned as contenders until today. Just saying, anything can happen. Should be fun to see all the signings tomorrow; the ones reported, and the ones no one knew about. If the Hawks can pull off a trade for Paul I'll be over the moon. If they don't, I still think this team has great potential.
phoostal
Regardless if we could get Paul or not. This ownership group does not strive for greatness. We all can see this is a flawed roster and moves have to be made. Yet, all we do year in and year out is sign vet min. that's it. So that's going to get us to the next level? ASG wonders why no one comes to the games. I want this team to win as bad as all fans. But, at sometime you are going to have to pull the trigger on something instead of standing around and watching. Why would the Hawks make that trade with no long term commitment from CP3 ..It would be dumb to give up on Teague for a 1 year rental of CP3 ...Chris Paul would not be the missing piece to a championship
phoostal
and the team we have now isn't anywhere near getting to a championship, so I guess we should sit around and watch them get worse and do nothing about it
swift
Where you guys get your info from its basically useless rumors...nbasuperstar is throwing darts on a board .. New Orleans has never been in any real discussion with ATL cause Chris Paul doesnt want to be here long term and we are not Chris Paul away from a championship ..THERE IS ONLY 1 PLAYER OUT THERE that is worth renting for 1 year to try and go after a chip and that is DWIGHT HOWARD Do I honestly think Hawks have any shot of getting him 0% but he is the 1 piece you try and risk bringing here and making a run Also the rumor of 3 way TEAM trade of New Orleans, Houston and LA LAKERS ....is mindless why would Houston trade Scola and Kevin Martin for Gasol ?? does that make sense people and the team we have now isn't anywhere near getting to a championship, so I guess we should sit around and watch them get worse and do nothing about it you either make a run for CHIP or start rebuilding process...you either trade Horford /Teague and a 1st round pick for Dwight Howard for 1 season and go to finals and make a run and entice him to stay in his hometown or your REBUILD you start selling pieces off and build around Horford and Teague and everyone else goes simple as that

phoostal
I agree with that theory of yours Swift, one thing that is a must this team needs to be shaken up. Either by rebuilding or making a huge trade. Staying with basically the same roster is going to get us no where.
NekiEcko
@swift Two question for you 1. When was the last time we had a All-NBA PG playing in Atlanta 2. When was the last time did we had a superstar playing in Atlanta Answer those question you will understand why most people want CPIII here, sure he isnt going to put us over the top but something has to give, we cant contiune getting into second round then stall out. This core has been together for a long time but same result, something has to give. Even if we didnt get him, just us looking at this option tell us that ASG might be commit to get over that hump. We do need a superstar but CP3 is not the superstar we need When was last time a PG carried his team to a CHAMPIONSHIP ? who was last all time great PG to lead team to one Also please dont say Jason Kidd cause while he was a great role player on Dallas last year that is what he was and was used as a defensive specialist .. WraithSentinel
At least this one story is about to be concluded if the rumors are true. Only one left and that is Howard. Then that should take care of the Superstars to big cities drama for at least a few years.
