Moderators AHF Posted December 9, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 Isiah Thomas is the other great PG who won in his prime during that time. On a lesser level, you can also name Tony Parker and Rajon Rondo.
coachx
Isiah Thomas is the other great PG who won in his prime during that time. On a lesser level, you can also name Tony Parker and Rajon Rondo. Its also a NBA with different rules. Physical play is no longer allowed on the perimeter. Magic Johnson would have a tough time defending PGs under the current rules. Now that you cannot even touch a ball handler on the perimeter it makes the NBA a game a game that favors guys like Rose, Paul, Williams, Nash, Westbrook, Rondo, Wall, etc.

That also goes for perimeter players of all stripes - including Kobe, Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, etc. They will never be subjected to anything like the Jordan Rules. Premium Member sturt Posted December 9, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 Pro Basketball Talk via AJC saying that Watson signing with... the Wizards... Hopefully the "where did that come from" reaction most of us had to that won't be the last time we experience that today...
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted December 9, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) Now that makes sense, he'd twitpic'd an airport Starbucks a few minutes ago that looked nothing like Hartsfield's. Oh wellz! Also, good for the 'Zards. Kinda smallish, but Watson and Mason backing up Wall and He Whose Name is kinda nice. ~lw3 Edited December 9, 2011 by lethalweapon3

frosgrim
I just looked at the FA list and there isn't much out there on the market. You can get a guy to give you backup minutes, but nothing else. The "top" 3 look to be: Telfair TJ Ford and a host of pick 'ems On top of that whomever the Hawks go after, the guy would have to agree to a vet minimum contract, so that cuts it down to the washed up (ala Bibby) or the never was (Banks, though some could add Telfaire to that list). In sum, don't look for a good FA solution to backup PG, even though the team has to get someone in soon to backup Teague.
Moderators AHF Posted December 9, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 This was a real loss for the team. Watson would have played some important minutes this season.
Premium Member BrazilianHawk Posted December 9, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 Peachtreehoops reporting Watson will sign with the Hawks. Kinda strange, cause the page was updated 2:41 PM
Moderators lethalweapon3 Posted December 9, 2011 Moderators Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 Not totally kaput yet, as his agent a little over an hour ago said "not yet" as far as a Final Destination. Jazz fans are hopeful that local sightings there today (in SLC, and not in DC) are indicative he'll be back. ~lw3

Premium Member sturt Posted December 9, 2011 Premium Member Report Share Posted December 9, 2011 Guessing Sund wouldn't do two years. Wondering if that might indirectly suggest there's an inclination to extend Hinrich... ?
