GameTime
He is meeting with us tomorrow. 12 million with a team option on the 2nd year. Ferry give him 3 yr, 30 million with a team option on 3rd; nothing to lose.
Premium Member Vol4ever Posted July 9, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 9, 2013 I said a while back he will get bigger dollars than expected. 2/24 may get trumped by Cuban.

Admin
It will be interesting to see if Danny keeps the meeting with him. I don't see us going more than $12 million or more than 2 years but we might give him a guaranteed 2 years vs a team option in the 2nd year. WillBarrow
If and its a huge if...he can regain his form, we have one of the strongest front lines in the league.
Premium Member Vol4ever Posted July 9, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 9, 2013 He could be a game changer for the Hawks or another Speedy Claxton
NBASupes
I don't know but 2/24 is not bad at all but it has a team option. Bynum might be looking for long term but I doubt anyone will give it to him. 2/24 with a team option is a lot still. Damn man. I would do like Dolf said, 3/30 with a team on the 3rd year. If he wants 4 it will be at 4/36 4th year team option.. We can't have no Speedy so this one is tough.

ATL_BALLER
I understand the high-reward factor, but the guy won't even work out for teams, even with a year off his knees. Do we really want the headache?

NBASupes
If we can get Bynum at 3/30 10% Year 1 9.7 Player w Opt. wo Opt. wo Opt. & Teague 1 Al Horford $12,000,000 $12,000,000 $12,000,000 2 Paul Millsap $9,500,000 $9,500,000 $9,500,000 3 Jeff Teague (cap hold) $6,082,692 $6,082,692 4 Kyle Korver $5,400,000 $5,400,000 $5,400,000 5 Lou Williams $5,225,000 $5,225,000 $5,225,000 6 Demarre Carroll $2,500,000 $2,500,000 $2,500,000 7 Deshawn Stevenson (non-guaranteed) $2,240,450 8 John Jenkins $1,258,800 $1,258,800 $1,258,800 9 Jared Cunningham $1,208,400 $1,208,400 $1,208,400 10 Shelvin Mack (non-guaranteed) $884,293 11 Mike Scott $788,872 $788,872 $788,872 12 Mike Muscala (estimate based on 2012) $473,000 $473,000 $473,000 -- Lucas Nogueira (#16 cap hold) $1,419,200 -- Dennis Schröder (#17 cap hold) $1,348,200 -- Jeremy Tyler $100,000 $100,000 $100,000 Total $50,428,907 $44,536,764 $38,454,072 Add Bynum 9.759,428,907 with all options meaning we need to cut under 1 million dollars. We can do that with keeping one Euro in Europe. Let's say we want Jennings at 12 mil which is what he wants starting at 10.5 million backloaded. We would have to take Teague's CH away of course and keep the Euros in Europe as well. Basically add 9.7 +10.5 to 38,454,072= 58,654,072 which is still over the cap and we still have to add another player. So if Atlanta wanted to sign both players under my current deal. They would have to trade Cunningham for two rookie min players or just cap space. In other words, it won't be easy.

Nobody can give Bynum 10% raises. 4.5% is the most any team other than Philly could offer him. You don't give Jennings 12 million average on a deal, he's not worth anywhere near that much. But if you had to... Someone mentioned once that we could Cunningham, which I'm not sure is true, but if so then that solves that. Otherwise you move him for a future 2nd round pick and be done with it.

Someone mentioned once that we could Cunningham, which I'm not sure is true, but if so then that solves that. Otherwise you move him for a future 2nd round pick and be done with it. I didn't say I will give it to him, I said that's what he wants. I personally believe, he isn't getting anywhere near 12 mil from Milwaukee or he would have signed. The 11 mil is probably just talk from his agent to the media. I personally believe he should be getting a Rondo like 11 mil per year deal. I do think he is worth that much at the most. I really think PG's who are starters are getting paid. Calderon just got 4/28. He is an average PG. That's what Jeff Teague is. I wouldn't pay Teague or Jose more than full MLE if even that for Jeff but on the market, they are getting 8 mil per year. So if you have someone who has All Star talent like Jennings, 10-11 mil isn't outrageous and I know you are going to compare it to Al but Al is underpaid as hell. He would have gotten a lot more but that potential lockout got him and Noah to take way less then they would have gotten.
